UPDATE: I’ve now been using this lotion for a year (3x/week on average - one bottle lasts 3 months for me). My KP is completely gone, and as an added bonus, old scars (hyperpigmentation) on my arms and legs are also totally gone. This is from the powerful exfoliation of the glycolic acid. It makes sense - glycolic acid is used on the face to fade dark spots - but I just hadn’t considered this benefit of using body lotion with glycolic acid. Also, with my latest shipment, the formulation seems slightly different such that it now is a bit less thick and thus spreads more easily on the skin. This is a good change, IMO. I will never stop buying this product! ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is only lotion I’ve found that helps my KP. I’ve been using it about 3x/week for 3 months, and my KP bumps are essentially gone. I had mild to moderate KP to begin with, and I’ve tried many other so-called KP lotions - from drugstore to expensive brands. While this lotion is a tad on the expensive side, it works. Period. This lotion is very thick and is somewhat tricky to spread all over my body. But once you figure it out, a little goes a long way. It tingles when you put it on - that’s the acid doing it’s work. It stings if you put it on broken skin. This was a game changer for me. I am now comfortable wearing shorts and short sleeves again.

Bought this based off the good reviews, I am prone to getting KP bumps on my arms, which is very annoying to say the least. I had it under control for a long time with Retin-A cream, regular exfoliation (especially with a good dry brushing or good exfoliating cream, ZA New York Megavoltage exfoliating cream does miracles but it's hard to find, I used to purchase it in Hawaii), Dove Deep Mouisture body wash (or generic equivalent) and Lac-Hydrin lotion. Well, just went through back-to-back pregnancies and couldn't use the Retin-A, so the bumps were pretty bad for a bit there, the Lac-hydrin just wasn't cutting it. I tried Am-lactin, and saw some improvement, but it's true the scent is pretty awful with that lotion (at least with the heavier version). I decided to give this a go and was happy to find that 1) it doesn't have as strong a scent as Am-lactin and 2) it will keep your skin very soft for a long time. I use the lotion after showers only, so generally once per day, and over the past 1-2 months the bumps have slowly gone away. It was crazy, I could actually see the line move further and further up my arms until the bumps almost completely disappeared...my arms feel pretty smooth now which is awesome, I am just waiting for the last of the redness to go away. So no, this stuff will NOT make bumps go away immediately, but I am still on my first bottle (just ordered my second) and it has improved my skin DRASTICALLY with regular use. I am very pleased and will continue to buy. Also, for those who use Am-Lactin, if you don't like the scent, use that just where you need to and use your favorite good-smelling lotion elsewhere, and you will be fine. I am using up the Am-lactin on my thighs only (and yes, my skin there is great and kept nice and smooth) and then from the knees down where my skin is always perfectly normal I use something like my favorite Victoria's Secret lotion or if I don't want any scent just plain Lubriderm. It's no big deal, I keep a few bottles of my favorite lotion by the tub, and I'm in the habit of grabbing each one for the right area, with the result of nice skin with very little effort. KP is a pain, so hope maybe this review will help someone else...everyone's skin is different, but after much trial and error these are the things that have worked for me. Good luck!

I decided to get this line based on reviews and it is also recommended by dermatologists. I purchased both the exfoliating lotion and the retexturize body lotion with SPF 15. I used to sunbathe and am also of Irish decent. I noticed an immediate difference with the first week of use. My skin has gotten so much dryer in the past two years and this product is a miracle. My skin is soft and smooth again and stays hydrated like it used to. I initially just used the exfoliating lotion which tingles when applied but that doesn't bother me. After the first week dead dry skin sloughed off and my skin had this amazing glow and I swear fewer wrinkles and freckles. I started combining the retexurize and exfoliating lotion together, 1 pump of each combined and applied until both legs, arms, chest, neck are covered. The SPF lotion is not as thick so it makes them both easier to apply. I love love love this product line and am going to purchase the facial care line as well, and got some products for my son who has KP and after one week he has seen a difference as well. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? Most definitely!

PROS: Reduced the feel, appearance and presence of Keratosis Pilaris (KP/Chicken Skin/Red Bumps) by 80% after two weeks of once daily use. After two months of use I would say I remain stable at 80% reduction. Should I use twice a day the reduction may be greater but with more side-effects. Smooth, lightweight and easy to apply. I don't require additional moisture on arms but do follow up with additional moisture on legs. Little to no scent. No Dyes. Three pumps thoroughly covers entire body so I estimate one bottle should last several months. Quality pump for ease of dispensing. CONS: More expensive than some other options online or at drugstore. Will cause a significant stinging sensation if it gets into hangnails, paper cuts, etc. Bottle says it doesn't recommend using after shaving. May cause significant stinging, redness, flakiness and irritation depending on how much and how frequently used or if skin is not used to chemical exfoliation (vs. physical exfoliation like body scrub) or used to this product strength (this contains 17% Glycolic Acid). Adjust amount and frequency of use to help skin adjust to Glycolic Acid but avoid side-effects. TIP/NOTE: It is important to make certain that customers do their research and buy from a reputable merchant so they are not getting a knockoff/potentially dangerous item. If you can't find one, know that Glytone sells on their website and sometimes local dermatologists do. IN A NUTSHELL: I really like this product and will continue to use in the foreseeable future. I have tried many KP treatments over the last 30 years including but not limited to LacHydrin, Paula Choice 2% BHA Liquid, AmLactin (various versions), U-Lactin and prescription Differin/Adapalene 0.3%, all with varying results. Some reduced redness but not bumps, others reduced bumps but not redness, some had a bad odor but were easy to apply, etc. I believe Glytone to be the best overall when I consider all factors; Glytone is the most effective. Should it be discontinued I would use U-Lactin again.

This could be early, but this is the only thing I've seen a difference with and a quick difference. After two weeks, my KP is almost gone, my legs and arms are greatly improved and smooth and I'm starting to see a lot less strawberry skin on my legs. Its literally the only thing that has worked after going to several dermatologists who just kind of dismissed me...AI has become my new doctor. :-) It's thick at first but goes on nicely and absorbs. No real smell. I put on the La Roche Posay Urea lotion after and this combo really works.

This is my first impression of the product. I’m a dark skin girly with KP and hyperpigmentation. This lotion is very, very thick & almost pasty feeling ! A very little goes a long way with this product . After about a minute of applying it, I felt a tingling sensation. It’s tolerable. It left almost a weird chalky feel on my hands after applying it. This is a first impression but I do feel the thickness of the lotion will penetrate the KP. I recommend washing your hands after you apply it. This doesn’t have a sent at all!! I did not put any on my face. they recommend not wearing this lotion outside in the sun it may increase sun burn.

When I was younger I found the perfect AHA lotion by Jergens. Seriously, it was cheap, smelled good, and worked beautifully on my youthful skin. However, as I've gotten older- it seems dry, flaky, dead skin kept piling up no matter what I used, whether in the shower or out. Being fed up, I did a simple Google search for rated exfoliating lotions. This one was in the top 5 since it contains uric acid, lactic acid, AND has the highest percentage of alpha hydroxy available outside your dermatologists office at 17%. The bottle reads: Glytone Resurfacing Lotion- and they aren't kidding! **I understand lots of people use the word 'amazing' these days to sum up things in life that should really be considered more 'great' or at most 'fantastic'** It's unscented and a fairly thick lotion, so a single pump goes a long way. I used it shoulders-to-toes the first night after a long soak in the bath to help loosen any extra stubborn calluses, bumps, and dead skin- though I highly doubt I needed to. The next morning my skin felt AMAZING. Seriously, I was thoroughly impressed with how supple, rejuvenated, and hydrated my skin felt. My skin hadn't felt this nice for several years thanks to sun exposure, age, stress, and a bit of motherhood related neglect. Ladies- you know that feeling immediately after you've shaved your legs and almost everything you wear or brush up against feels like smooth silk on your skin- Glytone lotion did that for my skin without shaving! Additionally, if works beautifully as prep for shaving since it takes care of any potential ingrown hairs allowing your shave to last a little longer. It's also great for those annoying little ketosis bumps you can get on the back of your arms or legs.

I was so skeptical about purchasing this product. I mean, in my mind a lotion that costs this much money shouldn't have had ANY mixed reviews. I wrestled for weeks over purchasing this product, but I couldn't be happier. I don't typically leave long reviews either, but this lotion warrants it. I've been using it for about two weeks and my left arm is completely KP free. It's still a little discolored, darker in some areas and lighter in others - but the red and the bumps are GONE. My skin feels smooth for the first time since I was a child. A lot of people said this made their skin feel unbelievably soft so they use it on their whole body and not just for KP, but unfortunately I find that my Olay Quench lotion makes my skin feel much much better, so I only use the Glytone on the KP on my arms. You do not have to purchase the body wash, the lotion itself will do the trick (and you'll save money!). It did burn the first few times I used it and my arms are red for a little while after use, but the results are amazing. In general over the past few weeks with the help of this product, I have gotten my KP completely under control. I recommend that anyone struggling with KP follow this regiment: scrub it with body wash and a loofa in the shower and then clean it with a general deep cleaning facewash (I use Neutrogena Redness Reduction Deep Cleanser), then before I get out of the shower I use Olay Quench IN SHOWER Body Lotion (this part is key and also makes your skin look and feel amazing - but I don't recommend it for guys as it does contain sparkles of a sort). Then I put the Glytone on after my skin dries and then again when I get up in the morning. Following this regiment I was able to completely eliminate the KP that i've had for 11 years in just under TWO WEEKS. Amazing.

Brilliant product. Amazing customer service. Would help highly highly recommend as they fixed my issue straight away. I cannot be without this product. I have the smoothest skin than I havr ever known. Best use it on alternate days, best on legs, arms and back. Sorts out hyper pigmentation marks for even tone skin.

May I know is this normal to feel stingy when applying? This is the feeling after two times of application

I purchased this product after suffering from scars on my legs caused by ingrowing hairs. Although they haven't completely gone I would highly recommend this product. I applied once daily and within a few days I have noticed considerable improvement. The scars have faded lots within such a sort space of time and I expect good results with continued use. Don't be put off by the estimated delivery time, it came very quickly.
