Awesome little fridge. I do not drink wine often, but I tend to buy bottles and keep them for several months or even years. Having them in a controlled environment is a must, and this fridge has done exactly that. It keeps the temperature steady, and I have noticed that the wines I stored have maintained their body and taste over time.I have had it for over two years now and it has not disappointed. It runs silently, which is a big plus since I keep it in a smaller space, and it is especially good for folks with limited room. The compact design still holds a fair number of bottles, making it practical without taking up much space. For the price and performance, it is an excellent option if you want to store your wine properly without needing a full cellar.

We ordered this because we were tired of utilizing our fridge for wine storage, especially for red wines, which need a higher temperature right around 55° to be slightly chilled. We ordered this thing to clear out the wine from the fridge and I keep it set at 55° because it’s at the lower end for red wines and the higher end for white wines..A lot of customers in the reviews stated that this thing makes a lot of noise that is absolutely false.It makes about the same amount of noise as a computer PC running in the background, hardly noticeable at all.I haven’t needed to use the lighting on it because usually my kitchen is not completely dark and I’m not hunting hunting around for a bottle of wine at 3 AM in the morning so as for the lighting, we haven’t really used it. It would be nice if the light came on when you opened the fridge door and then turned back off when you close it again but maybe that would be manufacturing overlook..I do like the compact size it fits under our kitchen cabinet and inside of our pantry. I can’t really say anything bad about the product. I have not had any issues with it since we’ve bought it. It cooled down right away and stays a constant 55°. The wine is always chilled and nice little wine cooler.

Seems to be lots of confusion in the reviews about the cooling and noise level of this cooler. I can only guess that those reviews may be from folks who don't fully understand how Thermoelectric coolers work. I've had Thermoelectric coolers in the past and they always work the same, this wine cooler is no different. For those not familiar, in no way can you compare Thermoelectric to your typical refrigerator operation. This type of wine cooler will greatly be affected by your ambient room temperature. If you live in a hot climate (or Summer time) and you don't often use air-conditioning then this unit will struggle (big time) to reach your desired temperature. Anything hotter in the room than 77 or 78 degrees (F) will slow the cooling dramatically. Because there is no liquid cooling (like Freon) being used even in a properly cooled room it will often take a long time to reach your temp setting (sometime overnight). If I use a Thermoelectric cooler in a hot room (over 77 F) it's not unusual for it to take hours to reach my desired setting. This cooler is fully dependent on airflow through the cooling fins (heat sink) which only has a basic PC fan pushing air through it. The cooler the room, the easier it will transfer heat form the inside to outside and be blown off by that fan. There is only one heat sink the unit uses. If you tear this cooler open you will see that the same heat sink goes from the inside to the outside with insulation surrounding it in order to keep ambient temperatures out. So if that heat sink is not cooled off properly on the outside then it will struggle to do the job intended. If you research how Thermoelectric coolers work you may realize why there are so many negative comments about the unit not cooling properly. These coolers are intended to keep wine at optimal temps (not very cold), and is subjective to the user so you can not compare them to a regular frig. A thermal electric cooler of this size will never reach frig temps nor cool as fast. As far as noise is concerned, the fan will fluctuate in speed but should never be as loud as a normal PC fan at high speed. Even when the fan is off, after reaching set temps, you will still be able to hear a slight hum (when you put your ear up against unit) due to the constant operation of the heat sink transferring heat. Perfectly normal. Note: sometimes even when your unit reaches set temps the fan will still run (at low speed) and again this will be due to the ambient temp in your room. So I wouldn't be alarmed if you notice the fan still running when your temp indicator has reached your setting. Experiment with changing your room temp while using this cooler before giving it a thumbs down. Or purchase a much more expensive wine cooler that operates with liquid cooling. Hope this long review helps clear up some confusions

Received and set up Monday, 9/16. Set up was basically take out of box, follow very simple directions about initial clean up, and voila. It's a good looking wine fridge and it's working fine.My big complaint is the noise.........not loud or overbearing but like a bee is inside the fridge buzzing; high pitched and constant. It's extremely irritating and I'm trying to find another logical, convenient spot to place the unit so it won't be heard.........the sound covers maybe a 10 foot circumference.Return???? Maybe. But the value and apparent high quality offset the irritating noise so I'll live with it for a week or two and then decide. There are units out there that are quiet; I had one that was replaced by this one, so the jury is still out.

Works great- keeps wine at right temp and roomy for 6 bottles of wine- looks classy too

I saw one of these at my cousin's home. Now that I have it, I cannot believe it took so long to add to my accessories. It keeps wine at a perfect temperature. And I can re-store prior opened bottles with the pressurized corks i purchased separately. I love it.

Excellent fits room my countertop takes very little room

Had it a few months now and it keeps a perfect temperature; I set it at 60°. I hung a thermometer inside and it always matches. It's extremely quiet with no external heat, so a good buy. I dropped it a star because it has one fault: if we have a power cut, the fridge resets to 54°. So you have to remember to put it back to your chosen temp.

Does the job , not loud , great small wine fridge !

This is our second Koolatron wine cooler. With limited counter space it fits nicely into a corner, wine is chilled to the perfect temperature. We’d highly recommend this product over any other brand.

It fits in a cupboard and runs quietly enough to forget it is even there. That's a bit of an issue actually. The settings on these unit will reset on a power outage, and then you forget the fridge reset its setting to the coldest possible. Not that great for Red Wine.Another issue, is with the touch buttons, which are flimsy, cheap and regularly break. You can't press them anymore until you've hit the damn thing several times.The unit would have been better with mechanical buttons. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

This is a nice little wine fridge with minimum noise. Great Christmas buy.
