Norpro Egg Beater Classic Hand Crank Style 18/10 Stainless Steel Mixer 12 Inches

I have owned this egg beater for almost a year now. I use it 2-3 times a week. It has proven to be a high quality item. The build quality is really great. I would purchase this item again. The price was very reasonable too.

Other than not being dishwasher safe, I have no complaints. This beater works quite well and is definitely built more solidly than a lot of the all-plastic beaters that are common here. I have no doubt that this one will last a decade or more.

This is the 2nd one I purchased for my wife. She asked for it as a Christmas gift and loves it. The first one did break after about 2.5 yrs (rivet broke holding the beaters in). So disappointed it broke. Hopefully this one will last longer as it does seem to be solid. I do recommend this.

Works quite well and it’s sturdy. If you buy one, just remember, you can’t throw these in the dishwasher, but that’s no big deal, just put some hot water in a bowl and turn the crank and it’s clean.

This is the classic old school beater. I almost didn't get it because reviews said it was difficult to get the crank moving. Out of the box it was very stiff but I just ran it under warm water while turning the handle and it began to run smoothly. It seems heavy duty. I am no fan of plastic but those parts are good quality. Seems pretty good.

Received this today. It is NOT worth $30. If you hold it up in the air, the handle turns easily. If you put it in a bowl, the blades catch on each other. Very disappointed.I don not recomme d this product.

There are a lot of hand-cranked egg beaters on Amazon that look similar to the Norpro. I researched them pretty thoroughly prior to pulling the trigger on the Norpro and I can assure you that they are not the same. Get the Norpro. It is a really well-designed and well-built egg beater. The operation is super smooth and it feels really solid. I use the Norpro to beat two large eggs in a Pyrex 2-cup liquid measure every morning and it makes quick work of it every time. The only downside - and it's a really minor one - is that the beaters themselves do not make contact with the bottom of the mixing vessel; they sit about a quarter inch above it. This is not an issue if your liquid level is sufficient to cover the quarter-inch gap, but if you are beating a small amount of liquid, like a single egg, you might have to use a fork - or maybe just a smaller diameter mixing vessel to bring the liquid level up to the beaters. I wouldn't let something like this deter you from buying the Norpro, though, in any case. Besides, the bracing that keeps the beaters above the bottom of the mixing vessel is also what gives the tool strength.

When my forty year old egg beater died of old age, this style was precisely what I wanted. I love to cook, but am not one for baking, so I didn't want anything electrical - and all I could find locally, or inexpensively, was a whisk. I only have used it twice so far, and it is extremely difficult to get it to operate. I can crank it a few times, then it stops. It was the only one I could find in this style, but it operates poorly, and was not at all a good value.
