Will this keep the spiders away?

Iv never heard of lavender keeping spiders away, they smell lovely though. I bought a special plug from amazon. It gives off some sort of electrical waves which spiders dont like. IT WORKS, spiders send me mental, I never kill them though, used to use a glass and a piece of carboard. Dont have to use anything with this plug.
