This isn't meant to actually clean the inside of your kettle, it is for preventing limescale from forming. You just pop one into a nice, clean stainless steel kettle, and the lime deposits on this little guy instead of crusting up on your kettle.It does not prevent ALL deposits, but I have left my kettle for 2 weeks of frequent use without scrubbing the inside, and all I needed to clean the kettle was a sponge!! The metal mesh attracts the majority of the lime deposits, and you just have to squeeze it a bit while washing it to clean that off, and it's ready to be used again.This is one of those products that you want to tell other people about!

I have searched many tea stores and specialty cooking shops and not found this little item...but here it is! Very happy! If you give a teapot as a gift or buy one for yourself, this little item will keep it clean and clear of those mineral deposits.

I think it helps a bit - maybe I'll experiment by using it for the same number of fill ups and boils as not using it. Not sure if I have that level of commitment, so don't expect an update. It's not nice wasting peoples time. I suppose it can be fun though if you have a really sadistic streak.

Works beautifully. We haven't had lime scale in our kettle since we started using it. Best of all, it doesn't affect the taste of the water.

This amazing little gizmo does a fine job of keeping our tea kettle free of white deposits.I was skeptical at first, but I have been using it for six months, just squeeze it under running water every few weeks and you will very easily be able to remove the built up deposit, that in the past would have built up on your tea kettle.

I bought this a few weeks ago and added to my kettle when it was clean, but for some reason the limescale WORSENED after I put the descaler in. I dunno what I did wrong...I really wanted this to work. Now I don't think I can use it.

I live in San Jose CA. The water here is so hard that my stove top and electric kettles build up a thick crust of calcium deposit very quickly unless I frequently de-scale with vinegar. I tried this little gadget but it really was no match for the water here. Yes it attracted a lot of scale which was easy to wash out by squeezing, but the bottom and sides of my kettles were just as caked as before. So sadly, no bueno.

This keeps the inside of the kettle from getting too many mineral deposits. My county has very hard water with a lot of calcium and it can wreck your pots and pans. You have to make sure you don't dump it out when you empty the kettle.

Tut genau wofür er angeschafft wurde. Entkalken des Wasserkochers ist wesentlich seltener nötig.

If you live in an area where calcium is heavy in your water supply, don't expect this to replace your once a month kettle soaking with white vinegar.You HAVE TO Clean this scourer every 2 weeks in vinegar or CLR as it clogs up.3 stars
