It’s a decent cherry cola and a great value
I’m really surprised by all the negative reviews of this product. Personally, I love it. But to each his own. Now, I will offer the follow caveat: I use it, as well as all “singles to go” with carbonated water from my Sodastream. So, my thoughts only pertain to this product when used with carbonated water. So, without a doubt the IBC Cherry Cola does taste better than RC Cherry Cola but I refuse to pay the extortionist pricing for it. Yes, I guess I can see where some people say it reminds them of cough syrup. My wife said the same thing when I gave her a drink. But she “didn’t hate it” in her words. But if were forced to use a “cough medicine” comparison I think it would be more accurate to compare the cherry flavor to that of Luden’s cherry lozenges. But in my opinion, it isn’t overwhelmingly strong. Yeah, the cherry flavor does seem a little unnatural compared to what you might expect from an actual bottle of cherry soda. But I am also aware that this isn’t an actual bottle of soda and as such it is highly unlikely that any drink mix, especially a cola, is going to taste exactly the same. I think there will always be a trade off for the convenience that singles to go offer...which is taste. I think RC has done a decent job at achieving that balance. It’s certainly better than the “balance” of some of them...such as A&W cream soda: a drink that I love, but in singles to go form a drink so disgusting that Novocain should be included in every box so you can’t taste it. I’m all about singles to go that are modeled on real bottled soft drinks and that aren’t one of the colors of the rainbow....you can find orange Sunkist, grape Crush, and such all day long but the colors that aren’t in a rainbow (colas & clears) are quite difficult to come by. And the offerings that do exist are usually limited and pricy. So, taking all that into account, I am pretty happy with RC Cherry Cola and most definitely will buy again!

chemical taste throughout
Been looking for a cola enhancer for water and gave this a try. I added a packet to a cold 16.9 oz sparkling water just as directed. I understand that taste is a personal thing so you can use this as a guide for your decision making process. After mixing I took my first sip. The initial taste buds said not bad, but a second later they shouted wait, I've got something else here. An overpowering chemical taste filled my mouth. I never give one taste all the decision making duties so I decided that another sip was in order. I thought maybe the mix wasn't complete so I it gave it a vigorous shake. Took another sip and ...........nope. All chemical. It's a shame they could not come up with an additive that had natural flavors to it. I guess I will need to keep looking.

Really strong flavor! Recommended to dilute in a 2 liter instead. 😊
The flavor of these are really strong! I'd imagine that the people who left negative reviews, didn't think to dilute the mix with more water, before giving up. I use 1 packet in a 2L of cold water, shake and carbonate to around 50psi, and it's delicious! No chemical or off taste to me, that way, either. I'd say that the flavor is on par with Big K or other "store brand" diet cherry colas, but surprisingly a bit sweeter. Think "Coke Zero" sweetness. For less than $15 delivered, good value too, practically the same price or cheaper as finding it at the store. I do wish I could maybe do a half order, or just 2 or 3 boxes, if only because I'd prefer a variety over 72 of the same flavor.

Too sweet, bad flavor
I liked the IBC Cherry Cola packets much better. They tasted like cherry cola minus the carbonated water. Great stuff.Apparently, it is no longer available and has been replaced with this RC version. It is not nearly as good. It is sickening sweet (artificially) and even in a large bottle of water it is too overpowering to enjoy. Hard to taste cherry or cola flavor. Just too sweet. I am trying to use only 1/2 pack at a time. I will not buy this again. I wish they'd bring back the IBC version. The A&W rootbear flavor is good. I hope they don't change that.

Powdered cherry cola
I have been eyeing this powdered cola product for quite a while and finally bought a case. There are a lot of negative reviews for this product. It's hard to garner any useful information with so many short unhelpful reviews being written. Regular carbonated coke is terrible for your teeth health. I can't think of any worse product for my teeth than drinking coke. Some describe this powdered cola as having a medicine taste. I would describe the taste as being flat and needing carbonation. I added a spoonful of sugar to the drink, just like I do with coffee and that is an improvement to the overall taste. The powdered rootbeer packets you can buy generally have better taste and get better reviews than this cherry cola product. After dissolving the powder in water you can see some brown granules at the bottom of the glass that look like pepper flakes so the packet does not completely dissolve in water like it should. Some consumers taste this stuff and throw it out, well I wish I had those powdered cola packets that were thrown out. This powdered cherry cola tastes o.k. with the spoonful of sugar I added. I will be using this product on a regular basis in the future.

This is my husband's favorite drink!
My 86 year old husband was told to drink more water by his doctor so that he wouldn't become dehydrated. Once I made this water-enhancing drink for him, he became a fan and drank a lot more liquid throughout the day. The flavor is delicious and tastes like the RC Cola cherry soft drinks, but without the fizz. We don't need air in our stomachs anyway. We are glad to enjoy the taste of this beverage and always keep the little packets on hand. I add one packet per 16 to 18 ounces of filtered water in a glass bottle with a screw-on silicone cap, then give it a good shake. No mess! They stay in the refrigerator until needed. Yummy!
