Once cooled, the rice can be used to make all sorts of Sushi with the ingredients you like. Why powdered vinegar? Liquid vinegar makes rice watery if you put too much on it. Therefore if you want a strong vinegar flavor but you don't want it too watery, this product is a good choice.

WARNING! If this matters to you, it has the food additive monosodium fumarate. So much easier to make your own with real ingredients: bring 1/2 cup rice vinegar, 1/4 white sugar, tbsp vegetable oil, tsp salt to a boil until sugar is melted and add cooled mixture to two cups cooked sushi rice.

nice flavor for sushi
I think of this as an 'easy' way to flavor your rice - you can pick up some sushi vinegar and add it that way, or you can use this and not have to worry about adding too much. Personally, I do both, but sometimes this is just easier. You get three packs and one pack will flavor two cups of rice - put the cooked sushi rice in a bowl, sprinkle this on and mix together. Sometimes I use it when making sushi, sometimes I use this when I want flavored rice as a side with something else since it does give a tangy/acidic flavor (I like vinegary things).

Sushi Rice has rice wine vinegar added for flavor. This powder works well to add that nuanced flavor. It is a great product for delicious sushi rice at home. I've bought this multiple times. It's perfect.

Does its job of making things sticky but it’s taste is not the best. It tastes metallic to me and artificial. I much prefer making my own mix of sugar and vinegar. But it is great for large batches of rice when I cook Inari or musubi for a potluck.

Best, easiest way to make sushi rice!
Cook some short grain rice in your rice cooker, mix in an envelope of this flavoring, gently toss around till well blended and voila! You have perfectly flavored sushi rice. Get out your nori and start rolling!

great and easy to use
this was amazing, it makes making homemade sushi so much easier. I usually try to make sushi rice and it either comes out too sweet or too vinegary but with this its so easy and comes out perfect. I will definitely be buying this again

Easier and delicious
Love this stuff. Much easier than trying to get the molten sugar and vinegar seasoning out of the microwave without burning yourself. Tastes great.

Authentic flavors for Sushi Rice
I totally overflavored the first batch! I wasn't sure how much to use, even though the pkg has some guidelines; have to adjust to taste next time! Very good product; high quality and great flavor! better form (powder) than liquid version.
