Black and white
Good info. I was a little disappointed all the pretty pictures I was expecting in this book are instead black and white. Colored pics would have made for an overall more enjoyable experience. However, lots of good information! Can't wait to start berry gardening this year.

Dated but great info
The content is fantastic and will be part of my collection as I grow my garden. It could totally use an update though. Some language, while socially acceptable in the 70's, is not so much anymore. Ex. Referring to Native Americans as "Those Indians." Someone please update this gem of a book.

Must have for berry growing
While this is an older book and some of it will be dated. This will effect the price values given for commercial values as well as the cultivars talked about. Beyond that this book is very well written and reads well. It flows more as a story than it does as a text book. I have found the information valuable and am confident in the information as the author is writing from first hand experience and not just rewriting information from other books.

Experience, wisdom and wit are always a great combination!
I first got acquainted with this book at my brother's camp and decided I needed my own copy for reference. It is a bit dated, but the authors experience and love for all kinds of berry bushes comes through on every page. For someone just starting out as I am, this book will become one I refer to often. The humor Mr. Logsdon weaves throughout is priceless.

easy to understand and easily implemented
This is book's sixth printing was 1977. Even though the information is over 28 years old the book is timeless. the diagrams for pruning are simple, easy to understand and easily implemented. I would definitely recommend this book as a reference to your library on growing berries!!
