Here are a few pointers and clarifications for those not familiar with this product... yet want to get decent results !The Metal-Cast line-up is essentially a 'clear' pigment paint. It's like a dye or tint, commonly referred to as a candy paint. Therefore, the base coat, (beginning) color, texture matters - because it become a part of the final look. And since this type of paint is basically a transparent color, it essentially colorizes what ever you want to paint. I've had success tinting raw sanded aluminum parts for that 'anodized effect. However, to get consistent/uniform anodized effect on most projects, it's a good idea to paint your part with the 'Ground' product, as this is a metallic/silver speck paint.Tips :Many thin coats !! I can't stress the importance of applying just a small thin light coat, allow to dry, then repeat. We tend to want to lay the paint down all at once - RESIST THAT URGE ! First, the nozzle doesn't quite layout an even coat regardless of how smooth you are. So forcing yourself to lay down many many multiple coats will actually help you sum a more evenly average coverage - which is a good thing. Second, the quick drying of the aerosol propellant cools the part, which means if laying down too much at one application will attract more moisture (condensation) thus leads to cloudy/milky flaws. Again, avoid this by keeping very thin coats at a time, allow to dry and part to warm back up. One good thing, the thin coats flash-off (dry) pretty quick, so another coat can be ready within minutes. I found a heat-gun (or heated hair drier) handy for accelerating the application of coats and getting a cloud-free build-up of color. Again, humidity will cause clouding/milky opaque results, so the heated air drying helps keep the part warm and chase away any moisture, keeping each layer crystal clear.. Lastly - shake the can well, and always shake this can except when actively spraying. Good luck !Compatible base, take your time - thin coats - that's the secret to great results with this product. This paint is beautiful and was exactly what I needed for this helmet.

Looks awesome with Dupli Color 1k clear over it. Make sure you spray very light coats and work your way up to the coverage you need. It’s super thin like water and will run easily. If you do this, you will get a great finish.

The media could not be loaded. Where is the quality? I don't mean about the color, because the color is perfect. But why do I have to suffer through the fact that it will not stop spraying after i'm done? I had to yank the head off of the spray can to make it stop and even then, it kept spitting red paint everywhere. Amazing, perfect coverage, very beautiful bud.I don't need to get covered in paint when i'm using a spray can. I ask, where is the quality. I am literally typing this right now. As the can empties itself upside down without a nozzle on it, because it wouldn't stop spraying, but it also wouldn't stop spitting its paint out of it. I love the color. It coded perfectly. But I did not need to have my fingers covered along with everything else near me when I was trying to make it stop spraying. This is worse than 3m products. That literally stick to nothing but human skin. And ten years ago I would have spent half as much. I'm really really mad. But darn, the projects I was working on, look amazing.. I bought a second can that arrived yesterday. This can will not spray anything at all! If I could give zero stars, I would give zero stars. Thank you so much for and a half cans of paint that I cannot use.
