SLEEVES are VERY LONG
My husband is 6’4” & under 200lbs. He wears a 32x34 pant & has a 34/35” sleeve. Bought him a LARGE to accommodate plenty of layering underneath and the FIT WAS GREAT everywhere EXCEPT the SLEEVES were so long that they covered his knuckles—returned for that reason. Otherwise it was a great goretex shell that was fully seam sealed and was light as a feather. Was happy with everything else about it—wish it would’ve been 3 inches shorter in the sleeves so he could’ve kept it

My favorite coat
I bought this as a replacement for the same coat that was 15 years old. It had a small tear and a friend tried repairing it. Unfortunately, after attempted repair, it was toast. Anyway, I live in Washington. It rains a lot, and gets very windy. I have a lightweight rain jacket (actually several), this one is a well-constructed, medium weight Goretex shell. Very high quality.

Best Rain Jacket I've ever used with several issues.
I'm sorry, but in no universe is this jacket worth $600. Remove 1 star for the absurd price. The only reason I purchased it was because my life is worth far more than that. I had gone on a hike with a lessor jacket, and learned a hard lesson about hypothermia in rain and 60F. I wouldn't previously think that 60F was cold enough to ever be a hazard...but when wet, and the wind is blowing, it sure is! Since then I've encountered 3 more situations, and this Jacket kept me warm and dry. The fit seems about perfect to me. Another downside is the buildup of heat and moisture in warmer weather. Above 70F and I have to open the pit zips. Above 80F and I cant stand to wear it for any physical activity as I get too hot and sweaty. A poncho serves me better in those cases. Gor-Tex isn't a perfect material in any sense of the word - so ignore the advertisement. It probably does release steam moisture...just not enough to matter. Hood fits well although mine tends to slide down over my eyes a bit. Pockets are high enough to avoid a backpack belt. Other than the few nitpicks, and the outrageous price, I do recommend this jacket.

Dies ist die beste Jacke, die ich je getragen habe, leicht, aber robust für Outdoor-Sportarten, aber mit langen Ärmeln

If you need a proper HARD shell for a hard days graft, this is the one.
I bought my 2nd Beta AR as I wore the old one into the ground, actually the zip failed in the end after some proper hard graft over 3 years. The new zip is stronger so hopefully get 4 years out of this one. Being wide shoulders and long arms I find the articulation fits my frame better than the competition. I’m a surveyor, out in all weathers and I need the best you can get.... if you need a proper shell.... this is it

Takes me back to 1997
I’ve been hillwalking on an almost weekly basis since 1997, so I’ve had a few jackets in my time. My first, was the Sprayway TL Torridon. I could stand under a waterfall in that jacket and stay dry as it was three-layer Gore-Tex, but it was stiff and noisy, and it lacked breathability. We used to laugh at the noise it made when walking. I had the Sprayway over pants too, and I could sit in a puddle wearing those and remain dry, but again, really stiff and noisy. Things have vastly improved since 1997 though, for example, my Paramo Helki jacket is light, soft and quiet, and that’s what I want from a jacket. Thus, when the Arc'teryx jacket arrived, I knew instantly that it wasn’t for me, which was a shame because it fit great. And people have been going on about the arms being too longs, what are they on about? The arms are fine. But the stiffness and noisiness of the jacket was a non-starter for me. I showed it to my brother who has been my hillwalking partner from day one, and he too was shocked. We mocked the similarities between the Beta AR and Torridon jackets, and why would anyone want to wear such a noisy jacket these days. I was a bit disappointed to be honest, because I was going to compare it with my Helki jacket and decide which one to use for the hills and which one to use for street wear. The Paramo is a fantastic jacket and in my view, out-performs Gore-Tex, particularly when exposed to hours of continuous rain. It’s a shame as I really wanted to see how they compared. To conclude, the Beta AR is a nice jacket: nice colour, good fit, and well-made. But it’s too noisy and too stiff for me. If it were 1997, I’d likely buy the Beta AR instead of the Torridon, but as far as I’m concerned, both of these jackets belong in the past. I returned the jacket.
