UBIQUITI USW-16-POE 16-Port Managed ETHERNET Switch

This was my first step into the UniFi ecosystem, along with the companion hardware I’m using to replace a legacy stack of older, out-of-date equipment. The transition has required some learning, but the platform is solid and the migration path makes sense once you get familiar with the interface and workflow. From an operational standpoint, UniFi in 2026 feels like a platform that actually gives you the tools you need to manage a modern environment. There is still room for improvement, but the regular updates I’ve received show that the ecosystem is continuing to mature and evolve in the right direction. Overall, this has been a highly recommended move for me. If you are modernizing a network and want a centralized platform with real visibility and control, UniFi is absolutely worth considering.

I've been upgrading my existing UniFi network at home and this was the perfect switch for my data closet. It does have some minor issues if there is a power loss and the PoE+ doesn't supply to the 8 ports, but a simple reboot from the controller fixes that. It is an issue that Ubiquiti is working on. Update:. The issue with the PoE+ ports were resolved with firmware updates.

It's almost always cheaper to buy these direct from Unifi's website, but shipping can be a bit slow that way. This was easy to install, you'll need to have a UI/Unifi/Ubiquiti router for this to work. It is labeled as POE, but can push POE+ when needed (I know because I had to configure a Cisco Meraki AP, and those will NOT fully power up on POE-level power).

Pros: Thickness 5/5 Warmth 5/5 Cons: Terrible wifi performance 1/5 Overall: 5/5, terrific PoE switch for my Unifi network. Overkill for my home network, but so is my PowerEdge server and other Unifi gear.

Good Switch. If you need POE and don't want to spend a ton of money this is a great switch. I install a lot of UNIF and Edge switches.

no noise, not very hot, about 1/3 the heat as the pro key that sits on it. poe is all maxed for cameras, no issue with performance heat or noise at all. have defaulted a dozen or so times due to controller mods that i could not fix, not the switches fault, the switch comes online and does its job with out any configuration from me.

Great switch, just lacks 10Gig support. 1GB only including the SFPs which seems a waste to even have SFPs in that case.

Works well, provides me with PoE for my Pi-Hole and wifi AP

The product specifications mention Power = 240 Watts. But the maximum Power the switch is able to provide is 42 Watts. It is able to support only two Ubiquity Access Points. At £300 this is extremely expensive for the power output it is providing.

I love stats... so, buying my Unify system has been a treasure. :) USG-PRO-4 and this switch and it works so well. Love these products! Will be buying more Unify stuff in the future. AND... the main point for my review... product was in NEW condition. Not previously opened. Which is what I expect when I buy something NEW off Amazon. Some companies lie and repackage stuff and sell it as "new", this was brand spanking NEW... otherwise it would have been returned again and again until I got a NEW one. :) BUT, thankfully, 1st time... it was NEW. :)
