Negative outweights positives
I don't like to write negative reviews, but in this case I feel that it is important to share my experience with others who may be thinking about getting this replacement lens. I installed it on my Yuneec Typhoon H hexacopter on the recommendation of several websites. Unfortunately, I requested a refund because it did not meet my expectations. Let me start with the positives: 1) It is noticeable sharper than the stock lens, but only at the center. The edge of the frame is perceptibly blurry. I already knew this before I got the lens, so it was no big deal to me but perhaps unacceptable to someone else. 2) It dramatically reduces lens flare. Instead of big streaks of light in your video when you turn towards the sun, you get a very pleasing lens flare effect. 3) It's compatible with CGO3 accessories because it's the same size as the stock lens when mounted. Now the negatives: 1) It requires a purchase of a separate lens mount. Newer Typhoon H variations do NOT have a screw type lens mount, which this lens requires. Therefore, you will need to buy your own lens mount with a screw barrel and pry the existing lens mount off the camera board. A hair raising procedure due to the delicate circuitry and wiring. 2) The field of view is more narrow than the stock lens. For this reason, this lens behaves like a telephoto lens and appears to brings the subject closer. Zooming closer to the subject can be a great thing, but unfortunately, this introduces lens shake. If you are only hovering in the air, there is no lens shake. As soon as you start moving, it becomes noticeable. Note that I said lens shake and NOT video jello, which is a different phenomena. Imagine extending a telephoto lens or looking into a scope. Unless you remain very still, you'll notice lens shake. I did not expect to encounter this issue, so I was surprised and disappointed. In this end, this issue was a deal breaker for me even though I like the lens very much. This lens may be great on a sports camera, but I don't think it works well on a drone due to the introduction of lens shake.

The GoPro got even BETTER!!
WOW! I honestly thought I could get nothing more out of my GoPro Hero 4 Black, until I put one of these lenses on. Through an arial drone forum/board I belong, several members recommended this mod highly. Since this was a more expensive upgrade, I was hesitant, thinking there was nothing that could improve my video. I was wrong, shooting with this lens makes my GoPro 1000 times better!Installation was a bit tricky, only because it was my first GP mod and I tend to overcomplicate for the sake of not making a mistake. After removing the GP lens, I was able to put the new one on, make some focusing adjustments through my 70” TV hooked up and was ready to go!I’ve got to say that the price I paid (around $140) was probably one of the best enhancements/mods I have done to my drones. I’ll be ordering another one very soon for my other GoPro.Be sure to visit the Peau website and read all about the positives/negatives. There is a very important thing to mention that needs to be considered. It is the “pink corners” that is part of the GP software. I didn’t order the software to remove the pink since it’s not showing in any of my videos. Just be sue to read about it in case you have it.
