Acceptable
The metal version of this is bulletproof if you can find it. I've already replaced the oem style plastic version twice (2x) in 8 years.

Direct replacement for the part I removed in my 2002 Jeep Liberty (Limited).
Nothing like buying a used car and forgetting to check over every finite detail. I bought a used Jeep Liberty about two weeks ago and both back windows were "off-track". In reality, this clip was broken on both sides.I gave this a four star review. This is a direct replacement for the guide in my 2002 Liberty and just like the stock part, it's not of the greatest quality. If you're super cautious, you can assemble it without the wafer thin threaded tube cracking. Don't force it at all. Although the lifter rod is threaded, it's not meant to turn in this piece. I'd suggest screwing it in about halfway and then adding some quick drying epoxy to fill in the gap. Mine started to crack, so I used epoxy to fill in the gap and put a light coating around the who tube, in hopes of strengthening it. Installing it was a little tricky at first. Just plan it through, so that you know it lines up properly for re-assembly.Overall, it does the job. If I have to repair it again, I'll opt for the metal version, but this allowed me to get my windows working in short order and it didn't break the bank.

This part is exactly like the OEM part and saves you a lot of money if you are capable of replacing it yourself. There is a good video on YouTube showing the whole process. As others have warned, you have to be extremely careful when screwing the worm cable into the plastic slide. Use a little silicone lub and screw the plastic slide back and forth small amounts many times taking it a little more each time. Don't be in a hurry, it will crack if you force it! When the worm cable is less than half way into the tube - quit! DO NOT insert the worm cable into the plastic tube more than 2 full turns. You may find that it is a tight fit in the metal slide because screwing the worm cable into the plastic slide makes it swell. Don't try to file it down...better to take a metal bicycle tire lever (or similar) and gently open up the metal track by prying every 1/2 inch or so all the way down. It doesn't need to be opened much to ensure the plastic slide moves freely. Lub the track with silicone or lithium grease before reinstalling the regulator.

Buy it!
Just came in from installing this part on my 02 liberty. I read earlier reviews and was on the fence about whether to buy this, the metal alternative or just give in and buy a whole new regulator. I figured for the price I'd try this first.Installation was actually pretty easy; the worm cable doesn't look like it will fit in this thing, but it threaded in pretty smoothly for me and it didn't take excessive force. After reading earlier reviewers comments I took it slow and was careful. The hardest part of it for me was figuring out the bracket at the top of the window track and reassembling that piece. But if you get that far you can figure it out.Glad I was able to fix my window on the cheap!
