My husband was in law enforcement and a member of the organized task force during the time of the of the events depicted in the book. He had grown up with many of these men in the Norton/Goodman area in Rochester before they turned to crime. I learned more than I wanted to know from him about what took place and was accurately described in scenarios in the book. But it was a relevation to learn that I had met so many of these characters without ever knowing of their reputations or occupations at that time. It is a great and factual read from both my recollection of events and what I was told at that time.

Definitely a factual and composite history of Mafia life in the 80's. Well worth the price if you liked the Godfather.
