desertcart.com : D.O.P. San Marzano Tomatoes Gustarosso DaniCoop โ Campania, Italy - 400 gr (14.1 oz) : Tomato And Marinara Sauces : Everything Else Review: You need San Marzano Tomatoes - If you've been to Italy and have tried to replicate the tomato based dishes/pastas you had but they fall short, the answer is San Marzano tomatoes. Yes, this variety grown in a specific region really does make a difference in your recipes. This is a great brand and the sweetness/flavor of these tomatoes means you don't need to add sugar to your recipes. I definitely recommend this brand and yes, it's worth the price. Review: The King of Tomatoes - Last year I discovered the wonders of San Marzano tomatoes after finding seedlings at the local garden center. They flourished and were awesome when baked in our favorite tomato sauces. I planted them again this year but we were beset with the fiercest heatwave all of July, preventing our toms from setting well. We just have a few not so robust ones. It is autumn, and blessedly cooler, yet we have no San Marzano's to add to our higher taste expectations! Gustiamo to the rescue, with these canned (yes! even canned they are wonderful!) San Marzano's. They are the perfect addition to a beef stew I make, adding that prefect flavor. I was also impressed with how well packed they were, these cans of San Marzano's, not break the bank territory but perfect, non-dented cans arrive in a timely manner, in green packaging too, lending an air of great respect for all the effort involved in growing, harvesting and canning these wonders of nature. 'Much appreciated Gustiamo!

The flavor is the best
Iโve tried a lot of canned tomatoes, and these D.O.P. San Marzano tomatoes from Gustarosso (DaniCoop) are easily some of the best. The flavor is noticeably sweeter and less acidic than regular canned tomatoes, which makes a huge difference when making sauces. Another thing I appreciate is that they donโt have that overly metallic or processed taste that some canned tomatoes do. They taste fresh and clean

Delicious tomatoes, fun experience
These are the real deal! I ordered these after reading about the co-op that cans them in the book '10 Tomatoes That Changed The World'. It was really fun to get the can in the mail and see the can just as described in the book, with the DOP seals and picture of the farmer. The tomatoes were different than I expected, but I don't buy canned tomatoes typically. They came in a thick sauce and each tomato was intact but skinless. There were about 5 or 6 tomatoes in the can. They tasted good out of the can but were truly incredible when made into a sauce for pasta. I just cut them up, dumped them into a sauce pan with their sauce and added some basic seasonings (garlic, salt, a little Italian seasoning, olive oil) and simmerred for about 15 minutes. It was an incredible sauce, my picky teenager even liked it! All in all I would definitely recommend these if you want a real San Marzano tomato experience.

Shipping cost was more than the item
crazy expensive with price and shipping was more than the can - which was smaller than I realized when buying it. Can't spend 40$ to make tomato sauce...

with shipping this cost $18.50
Excellent tomatoes, but no tomatoes are worth this price.
