The leader sinks fast to get your presentation into the strike zone during short windows on current breaks, while low light refraction keeps the line virtually invisible underwater for pressured fish in clear water. Strong knot performance supports heavier setups for salmon runs while keeping the line diameter compact on 100-yard spools. 100% fluorocarbon with high abrasion resistance Fast-sinking leader helps reach the strike zone quicker Virtually invisible underwater for clear water salmon 100-yard spool for river and coastal tactics ## Features - Seaguar STS Fluorocarbon Leader gets to the fish faster and holds its own in a fight - With a lower refractive index than monofilament, it is significantly less visible underwater - This genuine 100% fluorocarbon leader material delivers incredible abrasion resistance - Maximum impact and knot strength, all with a smaller line diameter than monofilament - STS Salmon is offered on 100-yard spools in 20, 25, 30, 40 & 50 lb. test ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B00F5E71QW | | Best Sellers Rank | #13,587 in Sports & Outdoors (See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors) #15 in Fluorocarbon Fishing Line | | Brand Name | Seaguar | | Breaking Strength | 40 pounds | | Color | Clear | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars (928) 4.8 out of 5 stars | | Fishing Line Type | Fluorocarbon | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00645879100408 | | Included Components | Fishing Line | | Item Length | 4.2 inches | | Item Type Name | 100% Fluorocarbon Fishing Line Leader | | Item Weight | 3.2 ounces | | Line Weight | 40 lb | | Manufacturer | Kureha | | Manufacturer Part Number | 40STS100 | | Material Type | Fluorocarbon | | Model Number | 40STS100 | | Number Of Items | 1 | | Size | 40lbs/100yds | | Strand Type | Single | | Unit Count | 300 Feet | | Upc | 645879100408 | | Warranty Description | Limited | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Seaguar - **Color:** Clear - **Fishing Line Type:** Fluorocarbon - **Line Weight:** 40 lb - **Material:** Fluorocarbon ## Images ![Seaguar STS Salmon 100% Fluorocarbon Fishing Line Leader, 100yd Spool, Clear, Multiple Sizes - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ZcJ9cNg0L.jpg) ![Seaguar STS Salmon 100% Fluorocarbon Fishing Line Leader, 100yd Spool, Clear, Multiple Sizes - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71dGMt103cL.jpg) ![Seaguar STS Salmon 100% Fluorocarbon Fishing Line Leader, 100yd Spool, Clear, Multiple Sizes - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/712ZHjhDdlL.jpg) ![Seaguar STS Salmon 100% Fluorocarbon Fishing Line Leader, 100yd Spool, Clear, Multiple Sizes - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81AomMNdLVL.jpg) ![Seaguar STS Salmon 100% Fluorocarbon Fishing Line Leader, 100yd Spool, Clear, Multiple Sizes - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71qK9HgQeiL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great buy *by on Reviewed in the United States June 9, 2026* Works well for leaders, price is awesome ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great leader. Great abrasion resistance. *by on Reviewed in the United States June 29, 2026* This is my go to leader for fishing around structure where I need abrasion resistance. It holds up well to being drug across bridge pilings and rocks. It’s easy to tie and holds knots well.It has a lot of memory and is fairly stiff. This fine for a leader, but do not use this as a main line.Great value for Seaguar quality. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Leader Material For Salmon Fishing *by on Reviewed in the United States January 3, 2025* I have used several brands and line tests of leader material over the years. Started out with Berkley Big Game Green 20 lb leader & mainline for cut-plug herring. I graduated to Maxima 30lb for both the mainline & leader the last few years mostly due to new fishing techniques and areas.2023 I changed my salmon trolling methods. From hard to soft spinners, tighter drag settings and adjusting my troll speed from always slow (my herring speed) to fine tuning to current, troll direction and flasher action. Then I started to break off fish. No explanations. I was using the right clevises on the soft spinners and the line wasn't breaking there. Not breaking at the knots either. Just breaking. it was fresh line too. Could've been contact with the bottom or one of the myriad of other causes. Enough to make me look into other leader material.2024 I changed over to using braid main line, 50lb blue Powerpro and changed my leader material to 50lb clear Berkley Big Game. The breakage still happened occasionally but now the we had more more fish shaking the hooks (barbless Big River & octopus). We had one day at Buoy 10 where we had 19 fish on with only one to the net (dang thing was a wild too!)I bought the Seaguar 50lb Clear because I bass fish quite a bit and that's all I use for all my rods (both spinning & casting, braid & Flouro). I bought the fluorocarbon because I wanted to see what less stretch would do for my hookup to land ratio.First thing I noticed was it was stiff line. Stiffer than mono in the 50lb test. I love that as it would whip my spinner or anchovy bait more from behind the 360 flasher than the mono. Second thing was that it is a smaller diameter it was easier to run line through the hook eye when you're in the middle of tying an egg loop knot (almost impossible to do with 50lb mono & 3/0 or smaller octopus hooks). And, with the line being a smaller diameter means less water resistance and adds more whip to the lure.We never had another leader break the rest of the year and the hook to net ratio went up. I tie my leaders during the off season so I've already got more spools and getting read for 2025. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/18497281-seaguar-sts-salmon-100-fluorocarbon-fishing-line-leader-100yd-spool](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/18497281-seaguar-sts-salmon-100-fluorocarbon-fishing-line-leader-100yd-spool) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-28*
