Although the parameters of the project changed and these are not to be installed here onsite, it should be noted that these are very heavy duty hinges with very strong spring tension, which is adjustable. Having installed many a door in my life and times I am not readily impressed with hinge quality, though am, with these.

I am finally ready to install a swinging door and pulled these out of storage after buying them months ago. looking at these they seem to not have much quality control to keep everything nice and aligned. the video instructions leave me with no confidence these will work which instead of using an actual door the video shows a strange install using 2 pieces of wood. I am taking my loss and going out to a big box to purchase better door hinges. I can tell these will give me hours of aggrevation based on the quality, prior reviews and probably not last.

I bought these for some dog gates that I made for a client. The one thing I can say is, be very careful installing these and wear eye protection. They basically work like the tension spring on a garage door. They come with tension rods. You rotate the spring, then place the pin in the next hole, and repeat till you have the swing you want. Problem is, I had several pins shoot out during install. When thus happens, they move like bullets through the room. Maybe a bad seat on my part, maybe a poor design, maybe a bit of both? I had one just miss my face. WEAR EYE PROTECTION. Overall, these are pretty cool hinges, but they weren’t strong enough to keep the doors from sagging, so check the weight limits (if any). My doors were roughly 24”x24” made of 2x4’s, and this was too much weight for two hinges. They work, but they still sag slightly.

I bought these back in Nov. Just now got to my project. Packaging looked like it was a return. No instructions but was able to figure out how to adjust the spring. Hinge metal is sturdy but the screws are threaded to the head and break really easy. Replaced them with better ones. The tips of the hinges are plastic so the threads strip easy. That's why I replaced one with a nut. When trying to adjust spring the part that clips over spring stripped off. So I said heck with this and I will be looking for a better hinge.

The hinge looks great and functions well, it seems to be durable but the screws supplied are of poor quality and several of the heads of the screws twisted off or popped off when applying pressure to the spring. I replaced them with high quality screws and the hinges work well.

Well made hinges. They work perfectly and are beautiful.

They worked well but the tool for winding the spring is a bit weak if you have a heavy gate door I use the category 8 hinge pin to wind the spring and that worked perfect.

These hinges do not hold the weight advertised. Our hollow core laundry door is less than 50lbs and it sags terribly, to the point the door won't close for hitting the frame. The spring action is good one set, and they were easy to install, but unfortunately this was a waste of our money.
