Very soft flannel type material. Used them on an oversized sliding door under light shear curtains for privacy & to help with temperature control. They are not block out, but that's not what I wanted. Will buy again if need be.

I know the product name has the word “blackout” in it, but if you’re after real blackout curtain liners (you know, to actually black-out a room by blocking light), these are not the product for you. What these liners ARE good at is providing thermal insulation to curtains without blocking too much light.I have a big sliding glass patio door that is a huge waste of energy in the winter because heat just goes right thru it. I was looking for some liners that offered thermal insulation but didn’t block all the light coming in. These fit the bill nicely, boosting the insulation factor from just the curtains alone.The fabric is an interesting fluffy texture, with a smooth side that faces out, and a soft, brushed fleece side that faces in. Hung on to the back of the curtains (each liner included a package of maybe 15 or 16 steel drapery hooks if you need them), the liners create an insulating cushion between the back of my drapes and the glass patio door. As a bonus, they also noticeably deadened outsidenoise.They’ve been up for a full day & night now, and the heat in the room finally is comfortable! Just standing near the door in the winter you could feel the cold, and the heater had to be going constantly to try and keep up with how much heat was leaking out. Now heat in the room has finally evened out and the furnace doesn’t have to work as hard.Again, I bought these specifically because they don’t block too much light while still providing good thermal insulation. To that end, they’re great and I have zero complaints.Inexpensive, easy to put up, constructed well, and do what I’d hoped. Can’t beat that.

I love this liner it is light but thick and insulating exactly what I was looking for thank you.
