Cool blue LED for cool blue water. Perfect replacement for traditional pool light
I love to see my pool lit up at night, but with the traditional light (tungsten bulb I suppose), I never felt it was quite the right color. Some traditional light bulbs can have tendency to have a slight green or yellow cast or a K rating less than daylight. This IntelliBrite light is pure white light (daylight, 5600K I'm guessing) and makes my pool look like it's filled with Fiji water.I didn't realize how much of a color shift my traditional light had until I had the IntelliBrite installed and was able to compare the color to my traditional light in my pool-attached spa. Now, despite having the same water in both, the color of the water in my spa looks completely different to the pool water. The pool water is a sparkling blue and the spa water it somewhere between green and yellow. I now intend to replace my spa light too.Being LED, the IntelliBrite consumes less energy too.I had it installed by a professional electrician a). because I didn't want to do it; b). because the manufacturer won't honor the 1 year warranty if it is not professionally installed.Bottom line: Very happy with my purchase and how awesome my pool water looks at night.

Beautiful light, very pleased
Installed this myself where a broken pentair incandescent light was. Beautiful color and light fit perfectly in the previous niche. Bought fishing line, wire lubricant, and gorilla tape to get the cord through the conduit. Took a few hours but saved a lot doing it ourselves.

works great. 300 watt is plenty bright for our pool
Hire an electrician or forfeit your 1 year warranty, (it was worth it since he found unsafe wiring). Had to modify my old frame in the pool a bit but the new light fits, works great. 300 watt is plenty bright for our pool.

Not fully compatible with the old Pentair niche in my pool....
I rarely write a product feedback but thought I should on this one.1. I took advantage of the Warehouse deal and first ordered a used one in VERY GOOD condition. I was horrified when I received it that someone already cut the cord when he/she tried to install it. The item clearly was not in VERY GOOD condition and the cord is just too short for me. The second order is good. I asked Amazon customer support that they need to clearly document any reduced length in the cable if it was a previous customer return. The cable cannot be spliced underground and any shortened length may render the light unusable.2. I had a regular Pentair 400W Halogen light before and it looks to be identical in size to this LED light. I struggled for over an hour trying to tighten the single screw at the top but it would not budge. I finally figured out that this new LED light is not fully compatible with the old niche in the pool. One would assume that Pentair would make everything backwards compatible. The light is not totally flush again the wall as there is about a 3/8" gap at the top. That's the best I could do. Unless someone is specifically looking for the gap, I doubt anyone would notice it. In any case, be aware that these LED lights may not be fully compatible with the existing niche that you have. I don't want others to waste their time. This 30 Watts LED light is definitely brighter than the 400W halogen system I used to have. In addition, the water looks more blue, which I like, than the using the halogen light.

Easy to install
The sealed unit was easy to install as a replacement. You just have to attach a wire puller to the old cord if this is a replacement before you pull out the old cord. Some original installations are not done professionally like sealing up the cord hole on the housing of the unit. The light is meant to shine down into the pool so attention needs to be heeded before the housing is closed and sealed. Great savings on the electric bill!

light is fine but...
light is fine and materials are good quality. I give it thee stars because the hole for the retaining screw in the stainless steel frame is slightly misaligned and I had to enlarge the hole so that the screw can be properly threaded into the niche.

Worked great
The light looks great. It adds definition to the plaster. It really looks good.

Nope! Don’t buy
It installed like any pool light. Just fine. It was very bright and beautiful for 25 months. I will not buy another from these guys, and I will send a better review if the next one once that proves itself. This light was too expensive for two years
