This is NOT standard coax input!
I gave 5 stars because it would be unfair for me to judge, based on my particular application and poor understanding of coax. I needed a device to convert my standard over-the-air TV antenna coax output to my new ‘Smart’ TV’s HDMI input. My TV says HDMI inputs are best, so that’s what I wanted. What I didn’t realize is that coax from security cameras (this product’s design) is different from coax from cheap (as-seen-on-TV caliber) OTA antennas. I’m not sure, but it’s possible that my OTA antenna doesn’t even have the capability where an HDMI connection would matter, whereas today’s high res security cameras do. Regardless, the seller immediately refunded my return.

HDMI output of 1080P
I bought all 4k equipment. 4k tv, bnc cable, and camera to realize after paying extra for all that equipment that this HDMI converter downward converts a 4k signal to a HDMI 1080p output.I am extremely disappointed in this product.

Works great!
I used this to daisy chain two Amcrest DVR together. Basically I added four cameras to my sixteen channel DVR. The barn DVR transmits four camera feeds on one RG-6 wire (250 ft) going to the house. The barn DVR is set to the four camera display that show up on the house DVR as a single screen with four camera feeds on it.The only problem with this unit is when you switch between the two outputs. It's a 50/50 shot to get 1080p, because there is no way to tell which output the unit is transmitting. Luckily the house DVR tells me what the resolution is.

It does the job without much fuss
This converter has been a pretty handy gadget for converting my camera feeds. It does the job without much fuss. However, the button does feel a bit on the flimsy side and occasionally rattles. Switching between outputs can be a bit of an issue. But all in all, it’s been a very functional addition to my setup!

Feeds HDMI source into AHD DVR
I am using this to feed the output of a Raspberry Pi camera over standard coax to my DVR. It allows processing the video using raspivid/raspistill with the preview option to send live video to the DVR simultaneously. The 1080p SDI video output from this is almost identical to a direct connection via HDMI.

Works as advertised. Only has 1080p output even if camera signal is 4K
Works as advertised. Although it accepts any signal input, it is only capable of 1080p output over HDMI. Doesn't matter if the camera is 4K or 5MP

Perfectly suited to task
I used this box for a simple, always on, monitor of a 1080p AHD security camera. No setup to speak of. Plugged in camera, connected HDMI cable to monitor and plugged in power. Instant, clear rendering of camera image. It's only been running for a week at the time of this review so I can't judge reliability.
