Great EQ, OK boost, Ugly gain structure
I'm not sure how this one gets so much praise. Its a very mild tone shaper/preamp with some light gain options. The gain decay, however, is garbled and ugly - its got that ripped cone/static thing going on that so many boutique companies don't fix. I don't get why this doesn't get called out more, it basically immediately ruins any potential a pedal has. If you strum a chord with some gain, particularly something with some dissonant features, you will hear the gain get glitchy and static-y as it decays, rather than be smooth and even. It sounds bad and limits the pedal to a boost, which sounds good, but in my opinion isn't worth anywhere near the nearly $300 asking price. Especially since its digitally controlled and almost entirely SMD. If you need a fancy boost for a midi board, its probably good. But get it on sale if you can, its a very subtle pedal.Lastly, if you like to absolutely smash the front end of your amp, it might be a good option. It may also work well for pushing amps like a 5150 due to its subtle tone shaping and clipping options but I don't have my 5150 anymore to try it. My favorite pedal for that is still the right-hand side of the VSXO pedal with no gain, and playing around with the clipping options. There was one that sounded BRUTAL. Anyway.

Best pedal I've ever bought and probably will ever buy.
Bought this at Carter in Nashville. There's actually no way to make this pedal sound bad. Low gain is great for a preamp or just very sweet light gain passages, med gain is perfect for a tight rhythm tone, and high gain has that saggy goodness that sometimes you've just gotta have. I cringed a bit when I saw the price of this pedal, but I have no doubt in my mind that it's 100% worth it. I can't believe how great the quality is on this pedal. Jackson ampworks/audioworks is one of the best in the game right now.

Amazing drive pedal!
One of the most versatile boost/drive pedals I’ve ever played. I’d say it’s similar to the RC Booster, but adds some harmonic richness. My only wish is that it had a dedicated volume knob. Otherwise it’s perfect!
