Does this work on garment leather?

I believe you need you will have to experiment of the leather you are using. I ALWAYS DO A FEW TEST SAMPLES to get it right. Go slow and don't rush your sciving.

What oz is it good for? Will it do 5-6 oz? What do you think the min and max is?

I would experiment on a scrap of whatever oz. you are using and adjust as to what scives best. I do know it takes a few times to get the correct touch and level of cut.
