BangRui Automatic Can Opener Electric One Touch Can Opener Soft Edge with Assistive Auto-Stop (Red)

My osteoarthritis makes it too painful to use a hand operated can opener any more. I have never liked the counter top electric can openers. I saw a similar one of these at someone's home and decided I needed one. I did a lot of reading of reviews and learned generally these probably won't hold up well but they do what they are meant to do in the meantime and this brand seemed to have the best reviews for operation and longevity, I bought the extended warranty to be on the safe side, which is a rarity for me. I've used this several times and I love it. Set it on the can, push the button and away it goes. It may have to go around the can more than once so just leave it alone until it comes to a halt. Then grab it and lift the front end first and the can lid will lift off with the magnet--most of the time--there seems to be a bit of an art to that part. The can lid is cut off in such a way you can place it back on the can and it seals for storage in the fridge. I really loved using it. It did begin to malfunction after a little over a year but kept working for a few more months then I used the insurance policy to obtain another one. The replacement quit after 6 months, new batteries, just stopped attached to a can, won't come off, guess I'll throw the whole thing away.

Works Great ! At first my wife angled the opener "to fit it on the edge of the can". The opener went aroundthe can but did not cut anything. Then, I showed her to lay it flat on the can but only be sure the cutter andgear are lined up with the edge of the can between them. Then just press the button, let go, no need to keepyour finger on it. Let it whir around until it stops. Ours will back up briefly to assure the can is cut and thenstop. Lift the opener off and you have a smooth edged top. Wonderful ! We only used it twice so far butthe BangRui Can Opener is a winner so far. Some people say it may not work on all cans. They found ifyou turn the can over and do the bottom it works. We did not have to do that. It worked great as advertised.

I ordered this can opener to replace an older one touch can opener that no longer works. I liked the small size and that it fits in a drawer. However, it does not open cans on the first try. I used it on 3 different size cans. It took 3 tries a least on each can. I could have opened them faster with my manual can opener. When I opened the box the turning mechanism was bent to one side. I was not sure if that was normal. Perhaps that is why it did not open the cans. I returned the opener and did not request a replacement.

This thing is an awesome product. I purchased this item roughly a year ago for my wife, and she loves it ! She has opened all different sizes with absolutely no problems. I don't try to open cans with pull tabs, why would I do that when I can pull the tab? The only issue that could possibly confuse anyone is that when the can opener finishes, it backs up a tad as it disengages from the opening process and so you can then lift it off. Now, it cuts the can so precise that it looks as though it has done nothing until you lift the cans edge in an upward motion and realize the cans lid lifts off and it can be placed back on the can for storage.

I love this product. Having a little arthritis in my thumb sometimes made it difficult to twist a can opener. I still haven't conquered it to lift the lid with the magnet but the lid lifts easily by hand. It works great and so much better than a manual one. It is compact so sits in a drawer easily. I don't like things on my counters so this was the perfect answer. Highly recommend this can opener.

This is the best can opener! I gave these as Christmas gifts to my Mom, daughter, and son. They all love it. I LOVE that it opens the can at the top seam, and which means there are no sharp edges to cut your fingers. You can also put the top back on if you need to save part of the contents. It was an excellent gift and very easy to use. My 89 year old Mom has no trouble using this one with her arthritic hands!

It only worked about five times. Even then, the magnet never would allow for easy removal of the cut lid. I am disappointed in this product, the opener has stopped gripping the rim to cut, and slides off the can. Even trying to support it to go around, it does no longer cut. The button to turn on the opener is very sensitive, even placing it in the drawer and if it touches against anything it will go off, wasting battery life. I would not recommend this product.

This is second one of this design (different brand) I've bought. Neither was reliable. Sometimes it cuts through on second or third try, and sometimes never. Great idea but just not functional. Keep a hand-cranked opener handy.
