Bachmore 9”x12” Artist’s Tracing Paper Pad, 75 Sheets – Translucent Tracing Paper for Pencil, Marker and Ink - Trace Images, Sketch, Preliminary Drawing, Overlays 32 LB / 50 GSM

Needed to refresh/cover over several worn out fabric panels on the inside of my pickup truck driver side door during its restoration. Blue taped this Tracing Paper over the area needing attention. Could easily see the outline of the worn out panels. Traced the outline of these with a magic marker. Removed the sheets from the door. Cut out around the traced lines. Layed out on a table the new self-adhesive fabric purchased on Amazon with the cut out sheets over that and traced the lines around them. Cut the new fabric, peeled off the back revealing the adhesive and very carefully laid it over the old panels. Made the door look brand new again and easily done with no guess work using the Artist's Tracing Paper.

Holy sugar holy ice tea my friend! You’re obviously looking these reviews trying to get an idea of whether you should spend your money on this tracing paper. I’m here to tell you, you totally should. I have clearly never used legit tracing paper before in my life! I laid a slice of this upon my drawing collage to combine the layers and it was absolutely undetectable that I had put anything on top of my art! Absolutely incredible! Like glass kind of clear! I kid you not! Clearly you’ve made it this far (wherever you found this review at) so trust me this is soft, smooth, no grit or dips in the paper like some have. My pencil glides smoothly across the surface. The paper is also somehow beefy and isn’t easy to tear like tissue paper or other tracing papers. I’m upset I didn’t buy it sooner and just continued using the paper that came with my light box. Gah, just spend the money and buy the paper! Buy it so your work can be better!

The bottom line is this paper is very good quality especially at this price point. You will not find anything better under $10 (key point). If you are looking for thick paper then this is not the right product for you. You will need to buy something in the $15-20 range. The transparency of the paper is even throughout unlike Strathmore, Canson, Bienfang or any other paper in this lower tier price range. The transparency level is comparable to much more expensive brands, however, this paper is noticeably thinner which is perfectly okay for a budget level paper. The overall quality of the paper reminds me of the good quality "vegetable-like" tracing vellum you used to find in the 70s and 80s before almost all the companies discontinued or cheaped out to make their product cheaper thus the quality greatly suffered. I tried various degrees of pencils, felt tip pens, and even ink applied with a brush. All mediums laid on nicely on the paper. The paper did not wrinkle with the pen/brush and ink (that's a very good sign and indicates a good quality paper). The only strike I can give is the paper is a bit on the thin side, however, it is perfectly acceptable for a lower tier cost paper. It is not super thin but it is far different than a thick $15-20 tracing paper product. I purchased this product because I was looking for an economical option in comparison to the expensive and thicker tracing paper vellum I use for my art. I took a risk and was rewarded. I am impressed with this product and that says a lot if you knew me. I am a professional artist with over 40 years experience. I have tried many products over the years. I know what's good and what is junk. Reviews mentioning product damage might be true but I did not experience it. I ordered two pads. Both pads were enclosed in protective cellophane from the manufacturer which is a good sign and unlike you will see with any budget brand, Strathmore, Canson, or Bienfang. Cellophane wrapping is usually reserved for the highest quality brands. Maybe the company was aware of the damage problem and implemented this correction in response. Give it a try. I think you will be happy like I was. At the very least you wasted only around $5. And if you are not happy Amazon will take it back or the manufacturer will likely stand by their quality guarantee. (And no I was not paid or encouraged to write this review. I think praise should be given to companies that do a good job.)

Arrived more quickly than I expected and great quality. Perfect for illustration.

I love this tracing paper. When we I create a new piece I really prefer to keep the original “hard” copy sketch that I’ve done in pencil and redraw the sketch when I choose to add color. I’ve used other tracing paper in the past but those sheets feel very thick and unless using my light pad they’re not that easy to trace and transfer with. These are perfect. I’m able to trace out one of my sketches in no time without the use of my light pad.

This is the best tracing paper I have ever bought. The paper is smooth unlike some other tracing papers. I also like the weight and the price.
