Cute little fan
I had doubts about this fan, but I got it anyway because I have a very limited space on my desk. So I looked for a compact clip-on fan. I just installed it, and I am very happy with the results - is is small, quiet, stylish, and takes up no room on my desk surface. I had to move the desk a bit away from the wall, to give it space for tilting up/down. The clamp is attached securely to my desk edge, the cord is long enough to be plugged in in the nearest outlet, and the fan even has a small clip to hold the cord down to prevent bunching. I feel sufficient air movement even on lowest setting, even more on medium and high. This will keep me cool and comfortable. I recommend this fan.

Excellent Clip-On Fan
This Vornado clip on fan is great and mighty. Who can compete with Vornado really? I have their Vintage metal fans in each room. They last forever. I bought two of these clip on fans. I keep one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom. This one is set up on a bookcase, so it isn’t the greatest setup and does wobble a bit. It has fallen off because it really needs the side to be the same flat side all around. However, my fan seems to bulge inward and isn’t complete flat itself. It isn’t the quietest fan, but I’m a fan of fan noise, so it doesn’t bother me. I do think it could potentially bother someone who is bothered by fan noise because it is pretty loud even on the middle setting. The dial is in the back as all Vornado fans are, which makes it challenging. When it has fallen off, it’s been because I’m reaching behind to adjust the speed. By far, it is the BEST clip on fan I’ve ever had and potentially the best on the market at this time. I tried a Lasko and Holmes before this Vornado and neither worked for me. This Vornado is compact and gives off a much stronger flow of air. It’s the smallest out of all that I’ve tried, looks like the most durable (definitely the thickest plastic and metal rotating pieces), and modern construction, so the look was appealing. It rotates fully around and swivels up and down, so you can really angle it in so many ways, which is appealing. I was going to give it 4 stars and realized after writing this review that it really deserves 5 because it goes above and beyond for a clip on fan. I highly recommend this fan and all Vornado products. They’re stylish and so functional.

Noisy but effective and stylish
I got the white pivot clip version. (I just got them today so tbd if it lasts.) The perks: (1) It's powerful!! Especially on high it really throws some air at you. It's strong enough that if you're hot and turn the fan on high it'll quickly cool you down. (2) It's pretty, I like the way it looks. It's worth noting there's a white power cord sticking out of the back of the fan that doesn't show in the advertising picture. It's still less cheap-looking than standard all-plastic fans though. (3) I like the three speeds. (4) The cord is a good/long length. (5) The clip grip works well, it's like rubber. (6) And of course, it's inexpensive. The drawbacks: (1) It's noisy!! It's really noisy, especially on high. It provides a white noise background sound so *I would not take a Zoom call with this fan blowing anywhere near the screen!* It also would be annoying in an office space, your cubicle neighbor could probably hear it (on low might be manageable but on high it would sound like you have a very strong huge fan). (2) I wouldn't rely solely on this fan to cool down a whole room, it's mostly effective sitting in front of it. But it's helpful to get air moving when it's put on high? Overall I definitely like it. I bought two fans (the other being the Opolar metal 9" USB-powered desk fan, $22) and the Opolar is way less strong (Opolar's high is like this Vornado's low/medium) but it's nearly silent. I'm happy to have both, one (Opolar) less powerful silent one for Zoom calls, and then (Vornado) a really effective one for the rest of my day. Only this Vornado (on high) has the power to quickly cool me down so I wouldn't want to rely only on the Opolar.

Arms Reach ONLY (ideal distant for functionality)
I have two of these fans, I find the aesthetic more professional than most fans thus I think it makes a great device in an office setting or anywhere with modern decore. While it works well it’s clearly designed to be within arms reach as it does not work well at distances beyond that. When I set it up at about a leg’s length away (over 3.5 feet) it just cannot push air that far away. Even in it’s highest setting the air is barely detectable - lower and slower than the lightest breeze. I believe this is a great fan if it is within arms reach, much beyond it’s usefulness fades quickly. I was surprised how much better a fan only twice this size would work beyond arms reach. It makes a pleasant white noise not unlike a noisemaker, but softer and more pleasing to my ear. Thus I think it may help some focus in noisy office environments when a steady white noise might make errant sounds standout less. Dual purpose desk machine which works great when it’s close by.

good
update 2023-08-25: it has started making a clicking sound while in operation that has only seemed to get louder over time. all of my other vornadoes even ones i've had for over ten years are still silent with the exception of the air they are moving. at first i didn't mind, but as it got worse it's become unacceptable. still "works" great, but the noise has made me change my opinion of it a bit. original review: a good little desk fan, but the design has some drawbacks. the fan itself is of course fantastic (pun?) i got this because it's a vornado. i have a very different kinds already for different areas of the house and they all preform great. the fan on this unit is no different. it's quiet and moves a lot of air. what is kind of a downgrade is the rest of its design. i got this erroneously thinking there were a lot more points of articulation then there actually was. the fan housing can tilt up and down, and the whole thing can rotate left and right on the base. that is all. and truthfully that should be enough for most uses but did not meet the needs i got it for. i thought that the metal bar could rotate up and down at the base, or that the fan head could swivel left to right on the bar. because it is more stationary than i anticipated, it doesn't have the clearance where i had planned to put it. i can still use it, and it is still a great fan, it just kind of makes this somewhat elaborate looking design waste a lot of space. knowing what i know now, i think i would have chose a more squat design with a wider clamp or one that can also sit on a table top. all else being equal with vornados, buy this fan for its looks, not its utility.

Works very well, easy to attach
I wanted a stronger fan than what my treadmill had built it and this fan fit the bill exactly. The clamp style attachment is padded and opened large enough for me to attach it to the top of my treadmill screen control panel. You can tilt the head to get exactly the coverage you need.

Disappointing…Not worth it
For a Vornado brand fan, it’s no more powerful than a much cheaper random brand fan out there. Really disappointed, and am considering returning it due to how much I paid for it. Not worth the price in my opinion. You’ll find much cheaper, better options with more powerful air flow than this I’m sure.

Works great, feels great, impressive value!
Really nice for the price! Clamps on effectively even on my table top that has a pretty heavily chamfered edge. Wasn't sure if it would hold since less than 1/2 the clamp is on a flat surface on the underside, but it's holding really well. Easily adjustable, pretty quiet (especially at lowest setting) but moves a good amount of air across a small desk space. Doesn't look too bad either.

Aesthetically very pleasing and good quality little fan.
Used for almost a year. Still works. (Sadly, these days that in itself is something to note). It looks nice. Yes, it is a fan and it does makes noise like all fans tend to do. It's to my personal taste not too noisy on the highest level. The fan looks and feels like a quality product. My only minor complaint is that the clip on's limited width does not allow it to clip on some thicker table or window sills . But, overall good purchase and I can certainly recommend this fan.

The best for its small ish size.
Excellent size and power (for its size). Quality is the best ive seen for a fan of this price. Power is adequate at the lowest speed, and very good at higher 2nd and 3rd speeds. Get a bit noisy at the 3rd speed but that is to be expected for any desk fan. The clamp has nice rubbery padding that prevents the table from being scratched/damaged when it is installed. Swivels up and down and 360 degrees horizontally when clamped, a nice adjustment touch.
