Buy a different brand
First, people need to use "sonic" mole spikes correctly - they need to be used in hard ground so the sound waves travel through the soil. I've seen complaint photos with people using them in loose soil flower beds. Loose soil works like an insulator and stops the sound from traveling which defeats the purpose. In my case, however, I have clay-type soil so loose soil is not a problem... but this brand still doesn't work. As seen in the photos, I have mole activity within 20" to 60" of these spikes after several months. They are still "BEEP"ing, but the moles are just dancing to the sound. Also, the clear top breaks real easily. I do have one older "Victor" brand solar spike in another area of my yard, and there is NO mole activity around that area. The observable difference is, while these spikes emit a "BEEP" every 30 sec, the Victor spike emits more of a "CHATTER" (which is supposed to be closer to the warning sound moles and other burrowing creatures make). I don't know if the sound is the difference, but looking at these results, I'm going back to Victor solar spikes.

Works Well - Customer Service is Second to None - Superior
The NIKAND Solar Mole Repellent items are solar-powered and charge up as expected. I previously reviewed this item and gave it a less than stellar review because the chipmunks continued to carry on as usual. Customer Service contacted me and offered a full refund or a free replacement. I elected the free replacement and received it immediately After installation the chipmunks have "left the building". I suppose the original set of Mole Repellents were not working properly. I cannot say enough good about this organization, they may be small but others could copy their customer relations and service. I'd recommend them to one and all.

Poor performance - read below why
Poor choice. Over the last 4 years, we have purchased several packs of these. The first pack of 8 were fabulous! drove the moles right out of our yard. However, time and weather, plus destroying them with the mower or weed eater, required us to buy more. No problem! The way the original ones worked, we would be glad to buy them yearly. the replacements were not as loud, which means they are not as effective. Ultrasonic systems work, but they have to be loud! These have been de-graded too much to do anything without placing them 8 feet apart.

They worked for me.
These really worked for me. We have a new home in a new wooded development. There were hundreds of annoying chipmunks, and ground moles all over our lawn. I didn't want to kill them so I tried capturing and transporting them away and they either found their way back or others moved in. I saw these online and figured I had nothing to lose. After one season no ground moles and the chipmunks have disappeared except for one occasionally passing through. I also used to kill 6 to 8 grass snakes a year I have no idea if they were effected but I only had one and the beginning of last season and none so far this year. I have 8 of these spread out around the perimeter that I leave out all year and the buzzing can be annoying so I turn them off midsummer.

Annoys dogs. Moles and snakes indifferent.
I’ve had a couple of these in our backyard for over a week now, and the molehills keep appearing. One is right in the middle of the main activity area, and it’s clear the only thing that vexes the mole is the fact that I put it into one of their tunnels. I also didn’t buy it to drive off snakes, but I found it funny that I found a garner snake hanging out within inches of one. So it doesn’t seem to be good at driving off anything. Well, our dogs give them a look when they go off. That’s something, I guess. Build quality is also not great. One stopped producing anything other than a quiet and sad beep within 24 hours of placing it, then died completely a day or two later. Another one has been dying a slow death over the past few days. One has been working fine, so if a 33% operational record is what you’re looking for, this might work for you!

Overall good investment
I bought these a few years ago and was waiting to see how these worked and then forgot to leave a review! These seem to have been working and are still working even a few years later. I don't have anymore mole activities. You can hear these in your yard if you are within a few feet and there's no other noises, otherwise they are pretty quiet. You don't really notice them. One of mine broke during installation, the tops of them are very fragile so I recommend softening the ground with a water hose or waiting until after a nice rainfall. Otherwise all around I think these are a good investment to protect your yard from further mole damage.

Moles moved on after nearly 3 weeks with units on 24/7
Mole found in rear garden during late summer. This product put in place around the garden as per the instructions Nothing happened with the mole infestation for about 14-18 days with product switched on 24/7 However after this period the mole hills lessened to zero. The solar battery lasted throughout the night when they were in full sun during the day. Only negative was each unit makes a beep sound ever 20sec or so, and with 4 going off at separate times it was a distraction when sitting out in the garden. Great product give it a couple of weeks and moles will move on.

Doesn't Work
Seemed to work for about a fortnight, then a molehill appeared right next to one of the repellers. The moles must get used to the sound.
