Purina Pro Plan LiveClear Allergen Reducing Dry Cat Food, Chicken, 3.5 lb

Only digests the most common cat allergen. Thankfully, everyone in my house is only allergic to the common allergen, not the rare allergen (which this food does not protect against). Started my cat on this food, immediately noticed a reduction in our allergy symptoms. When we ran out of this food for a while, our allergies returned so it definetely works. If you are unfortunately allergic to the rare cat allergen, this food might not help as much. But for us it’s 100% effective. And obviously it’s tasty because our cat loves it.

This helped with allergies SO much. You will likely have to take some nasal spray occasionally, and we didn’t find that it was as if there was no cat, but it does make a huge difference. My cat loves the food and hasn’t gotten sick from it the way he does with some others. Worth the cost!

I've had plenty of cats and kittens on Purina Pro Plan Liveclear dry food. I've noticed that the adults and kittens love the kitten food more than the adult but it's also higher in calories and fats so adult cats really shouldn't be eating kitten food for an extended length of time unless your adult female is pregnant and/or nursing or if your veterinarian advises you to do so. Purina has many different dry food options including many different Purina Pro Plan sub-types and many of them are not of the same quality as others. Purina Pro Plan LiveClear is their highest grade dry good available with a veterinarian's prescription. It IS also the most expensive but because it's the only dry food I've ever found that ALL of my cats like, I'm willing to pay a little extra so that I don't have to get numerous different types of food for different cats. The LiveClear's claim to lower your cat's allergens is fairly new. I started seeing it within the last few years or so. Before that, they had the same food but it didn't have that claim. I've been using this food for 8 years and haven't ever had a cat that didn't like it. As far as the lower allergen claim goes, I don't notice a difference. It's hard to tell since my boyfriend has a pollen and grass allergy as well as a cat allergy so I don't know if we'd notice if there was a difference in the amount of allergens released in their saliva and dander. This Particular line of Purina's comes in a variety of flavor options. For the most part I get them the Chicken and Rice but I've also tried the Salmon and they seemed to be just as happy. I DID notice a difference in the size of the round pieces of dry food when comparing the chicken and salmon. The Chicken and Rice Adult dry food has round thicker pieces and the salmon flavor is round and almost flat. The size and weight of the bags are the same but the individual pieces are slightly different. I suppose it's possible that Purina is in the process of changing the size of all of the LiveClear food pieces and one of the bags I got was with their new size and the other bag was with their previous size. Both bags were fresh. If your cat has health problems that cause him/her to need dry food that s geared towards Kidney problems, urinary tract, sensitive stomach, etc. Purina Pro Plan also makes dry food for such health issues and they also have prescription food for specific health issues which you can ask your Veterinarian about.

My cats really love this food and eat it very well. The chicken formula has become another favorite in our home. One of the main reasons I chose LiveClear was its allergen-reducing benefit. From my experience, with consistent use over time, I noticed a noticeable improvement in allergy-related issues around the cats. It’s great to find a food that my cats genuinely enjoy while also offering the LiveClear allergen-reducing benefit. I’ve been very happy with it and will continue buying it.

It is a good food, my cats liked it alright. And I do believe it was helping with my own issues with cat allergies. The price isn't the worst in comparison with other products, but it is still high for the amount you get. Honestly, I decided to pay for better quality food for my cats and just continue dealing with my allergies as I have been for years. But it is a fairly quality food for your cats and if your allergies are bad, and price isn't a big issue for you, this would be a good food.

This cat food is amazing!! I am severely allergic to cats, like throat closing up when I’m around too many type allergic. My partner and I really wanted a cat so I was going to get the allergy shots. Then I thought to look into other options, and I found this food. My eyes don’t even get itchy anymore around my cat. I can hug, kiss, and pet her and never even feel an inch of being allergic. This is so worth it, I can’t rave enough about this product. I also have noticed that my kitty has never gotten sick off of it, even after being adopted from the shelter. And she absolutely loves the taste, so much so we use it as training treats for her. 💜

My two cats has no problem switching over to purina from hills science diet. I made the switch because of my allergies becoming significantly worse. I do believe this is helping with my allergies - however I also have multiple air purifies around my home and take an ungodly amount of allergy medicine, so I can not be 100% sure on how much the food is helping. My one cat tends to have a sensitive stomach - she has not had any digestive problems since starting this a few months ago. I have noticed that both cats have had softer and shinier coats. So even if this has not helped with allergies I plan to keep the cats on this food.

My cat has been on this for six months. I have not noticed much of a difference in my allergies. But I’ve noticed that he developed a minor rash in his ear recently, and there was a rash on his leg also recently. I am not sure if it’s from this food or not so I’m still contemplating if I want to keep him on this or go back to his old food which was from Royal canine.

We got cats in January and quickly found out both my husband and daughter are very allergic... Like downing Benedryl and Claritin constantly. Now it's May, and I forgot they ever had a problem until I now when I just saw a prompt to review it! They sleep on our bed and my daughter shoves her fave right in their bellies and have had zero issues for months! Plus the cats LOVE it! I can never hype this kibble enough, it's amazing!!
