I am happy at work. I can think clearly! This is not a typical "energy" pill. *by T***X on May 10, 2014* I am normally tired, mentally dazed, and stressed - especially at work.A friend recommended this herb. I was skeptical but I was willing to give this a try where prescription medications failed.The effect on me is subtle, not startling. But I started noticing these things. My mind feels clear. I no longer feel like I am dragging a rain cloud over me all the time anymore. I feel CALM, GOOD, and HAPPY.This is no energy pill. Unlike energy drinks, I do not feel jittery. This just makes me feel NORMAL - I can do stuff, and I want to.Mental clarity - wow, my mind is no longer in a haze. The mental fog is gone! I actually take high blood pressure medication and it muddles my mind. While this herbal pill does warn about high blood pressure, in *my* case I have not had any adverse effects.I feel calm and peaceful. No, I am not in a state of induced euphoria. I can still get upset and I may worry just as any person - but I handle it much better.When you feel sick, tired, mentally drained most of the time - it is inevitable to feel stressed and unhappy, and then you just slowly get worse, and worse - and you affect others around you. This herbal pill seems to have turned me around. I feel good. I do not feel "drugged up". I handle stress much better - I believe all these positives are building on each other and are improving my physical and mental health.I am not an herb "nut". I am not an organic food advocate either. I'm just a normal hard-working person with ailments. Most medicines and herbs have not had satisfactory results on *me*. It is working very well for me. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ WARNING (The good kind) Start with about 1/4 of a capsule, some studies get good results with 'ONLY' 100-200mg! *by A***H on October 9, 2015* Update #1 at bottom.The warning is to help you reduce the chance of side effects which may happen if you take too much right away (see negative reviews). This is like a medicine, taking the lowest effective dose (for you) is best for you and your wallet.(Original. I think I was right ->) I think the 'bad' reviews with anxiety, jitters, etc are actually a good sign, here's why. 1. 500mg is way too much to start with! (I'll explain why below ***) 2. Some Docs say it's important for it to be Siberian (quality/effectiveness) which means you probably need LESS and can save money. 3. Too much of anything can be bad, even water, so the overwhelmingly positively reviews (even when they're 'overdosing') seems to be a good sign because of how well this Rhodiola/adaptogen is working.*** 1* - I've read about studies where 50mg, 100, 150, 170, 300 were effective. 2* - I hear companies sell '500mg' because consumers think "more = works better" and they don't want to look 'weaker' next to competitors, etc (The smallest effective dose is best for you, your $, and buys you more time if you end up having to increase the dose over time. 3* - I'm no expert but if they're taking higher than recommended doses right off the bat and giving 4 and 5 star reviews, that leads me to believe this brand of Rhodiola is doing its job (Adaptogen = help the body fight stress by reducing the production of stress hormones that result in the fight-or-flight response. Adaptogens increase the body’s natural resistance to stress).Start with less, break the pill down, cut it or pour it into 4 or more little piles (eyeball it) or if you like being very accurate then get a digital scale from amazon that goes down to 1mg etc. Remember that you may feel effects right away or sometimes it can take 2 weeks or more. If you write long reviews I recommend cutting and pasting it into a text file as you go to save it, I've had the power go out etc over the years...__________UPDATE #1 - I took the cotton blob out and smelled it, it had a nice 'sweet' scent (it reminded me of what I smelled when I tried the standardized Nature's Way Rhodiola). I opened the capsule and poured 100mg onto a tiny piece of paper with the help of my digital scale. I dumped it into my mouth and swallowed it with water on an empty stomach (no upset). It tastes like strong stuff even with that 'tiny' amount.I usually react quickly to 'meds' your results may take longer but give it time. I'll update again soon but even after the first dose I could tell it was doing something, I felt more energetic and seemed calmer/faster when rushing to finish things so I could catch the start of a TV show. An apparently good Dr. said "100mg a day for a week to start." I have some experience so for me I'll probably have to take another 100mg dose after X hours. It may cause sleep problems if you take it too close to bedtime so take it early and see how long it effects you. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Supplement that actually makes a difference *by J***Y on June 18, 2014* After reading multiple articles on Rhodiola Rosea I decided to give it a try. I found myself being tired all the time and 100% dependent upon coffee so I started to research nutritional supplements and found this product. In addition to working full time while pursuing my bachelors degree with a full course load I have two kids at home that keep me moving. I'm not a herbal guy by any means and actually this is the only pill I take of any kind as I'm generally skeptical and sensitive to side effects of just about anything. I must say that I've had no side effects from these, but what I have experienced has already caused me to purchase a second bottle. I seem to calmer and think things through a bit more which is not originally why I ordered this supplement. I wanted to cut back on my coffee intake and to have more energy throughout the day, the effect this supplement has can best be described as making me feel younger. I actually feel more aware of things and am able to exercise longer and harder than I have before. I track my workouts with a GPS app and heart rate monitor (mostly jogging) and found some interesting changes after taking this supplement. My average heart rate has dropped consistently during my workouts and I've found that I feel more motivated to exercise harder. Not only do I feel better but my workout data reflects the way I've been feeling. I can't say that this product has performed any miracles, but I generally feel more energetic and have seen no side effects. To me this is substantial enough to continue ordering them. I've also noticed that some of the little things that used to irritate me at work don't seem to get to me as often anymore. I generally don't take the time to write these kind of reviews but this product is worth a try. Coincidently I never did reduce my coffee intake but I haven't increased it either and I've just generally been feeling a lot better overall since I've been taking these.
