Q: The description says trimmer and mat, but the reviews sound as if it does not come with the mat. Anyone who has recently ordered it know which it is?

It doesn’t come with the mat. You have to purchase it separately. The mat is $30-35.

With a little assistance and a cutting mat for support... it shouldnt be a problem... Im sure she will love it

You have to twist the knob to lock the blade out.

Hello. I have one of these and I never used a magnetic mat. you have to hold it firmly, and then you won't have any problems with it :)
