This is the best home/office paper cutter that I have ever used. I have used a lot of guillotine paper cutters, and they don't work as well as this paper cutter works. It makes nice, clean, straight cuts and the paper does not move while it's being cut. I make all kinds of labels with this paper cutter. The consumables, like the blades and the cutting mats are readily available. The cutter is made out of metal and is sturdy, it has a carrying handle which is very useful. I would buy it again in the future, if I ever had to.

I like the precision that this cutter offers. It’s great that you can get replacement blades for this. It looks like replacing the blades is pretty simple. And your lasagna in such a way that it’s very safe to use and you don’t get close to the blade to be cut. I’ve been very happy with it so far and it is a good purchase for me. I definitely would buy this again. It’s very easy to use.

For the most part, this is a pretty good paper cutter, though not perfect. I like that is is large and will handle all of the size paper I use. I also like that it uses a rotary blade and you can purchase additional blades for replacement or specialty purposes. It also has a magnetic piece you can use to set stops for repeated cuts of the same size. It also has a small add on part that can be used along with the magnet to set repeat cuts for smaller items. Now for the issues I have. It has a fixed guide rail that can't be raised. This probably makes the cutter a bit more sturdy but also makes it a bit harder to align. Also, in my use, the blade does not always cut to the end of the line. As I have only used this for a short time so far, it may be that I need to get better on my part. The add on guide is nice but only works if you have a flat, solid desk. I often do cuts on my lap, and the guide would just fall off if I tried it. The fixed guide does not warrant a star loss, so if I can improve my cutting skills, I will revise to a five star rating.

This is the best paper cutter i have owned. Im not one to leave reviews (i should) but i LOVE this thing. I first bought a small one from a different seller where you slide the blade like this one but i would go through new little blades every 2-3 days and would sometimes tear my paper. I use it to cut thicker sublimation paper everyday and that other one did the job but i dreaded every time i had to get blades. I also had a different one where you cut down with the blade and came with a magnet to hold paper down. The magnet used to leave my paper dirty and i had to reprint quite a few designs. This one however has been a lifesaver. It saves me so much time from having to cut each design individually. It’s super precise. Hasn’t gotten my papers dirty since the thing that holds the paper down is plastic, but strong plastic. It is very safe as well. Its cut so much time down and honestly i would say its one of the best purchases i have made on Amazon that have been extremely useful. Will be purchasing new blades soon so i have them when the time comes. Thank you for this great product!

Review of Carl RT-200N I found the cutting action of this board nice and smooth. In addition, the yellow-green translucent clamping bar made for easy viewing/spotting of the exact cutting path of the blade. The board is nice and compact with a handy carrying handle. As a bonus, I found that when standing the board on the end opposite the carry handle, only the base of the board touched the ground. The base was slightly longer than the clamping bar, so the clamping bar or none of the other parts critical to cutting were touching the ground when stood on end. This is an ideal board for straight cuts. It also seems quite durable. If only it didn't have one major glaring problem.... the grid on the board is off by 1/32 of an inch. If you line up a letter-size sheet of paper -- 8.5 x 11 inches -- to the 5.5-inch mark and cut, you end up with 8.5 x 5.46875 and 8.5 x 5.53125 sheets of paper. It would be easy enough to offset the paper by 1/32 of an inch before cutting, but I shouldn't have to. Despite the grid misalignment, cuts are square to the paper. No skewed cuts! I've owned enough rotary trimmers over the years that I know not to expect 100% precision from any affordable trimmer such as this. If the measurement grid were only 1/64 of an inch off but square, I would have given this trimmer 5 stars and a glowing review. However, I have enough occasions where I need to make repeatable, correct single-sheet cuts than what I get with the Carl RT-200N. Also, having read other reviews, the board offset does seem to be an issue, so I cannot recommend it for cases where cut repeatability is important. Note about rotary trimmer clamping bars: I have NEVER had a rotary trimmer -- from DIY home to high-end professional -- where the clamping bar provides sufficient paper clamping by itself. Always be sure to hold the paper in place as you slide the cutting head!

Very sturdy, and well made. Easy to use and smooth. It has a little red line on the end of the plastic piece to easily see where your cut will be so that you don’t cut off something you don’t mean to. It’s a great purchase, and a wonderful upgrade to what I was using!

It is not user friendly. This is a 12 inch cutter but only in one direction - the plate you lay your paper on only goes to 8 inches wide - not 12. I thought it would open with a ruler on the bottom like most trimmers do so you can measure up to 12 inches - but this does not - the bar does not lift up either. you have to slide your paper under the bar. It does cut nice. I also contacted this company by email and on their website NUMEROUS TIMES and did not get any help - this was an expensive bad choice.

Buy one for home and you’ll have it for years. This is the second one I’ve had in the last 30 years, and this one will last another 30 years. It’s a very adorable and cuts perfectly. It’s solidly made, and not cheap plastic or anything like that. I like that you can put the paper very easily on the bed and see exactly how it’s lining up. It also has a wonderful clear part where the rotary cutter goes so you can see exactly where you’re cutting. The clear window means no mistakes. This is not even close to the Fiskars version. The cuts are sharp, and I can’t say enough about having that clear window to show exactly what is being cut.

Can’t make up my mind whether I really like this or not. It cuts relatively cleanly but can be harder to position some items due to just how much plastic is in the way. Don’t like so much how it cuts into the base piece underneath too but perhaps that’s needed. It was the best available in stock for the price in the UK though - cheaper rotary cutters don’t seem to exist anymore!

Das Handling des Schneiders wäre eigentlich gut gedacht mit Anschlag und ausziehbarer Verlängerung sowie Ersatzmesser-Angebot. Aber bei diesem Rollenschneider schneidet das Schneiderad nicht an einer Metallschiene entlang sondern AUF einer Schneidematte. Das bedeutet, dass man stärkeren Druck bei mehreren Blättern ausüben muss. Drückt man zu wenig, werden die unteren Blätter nicht geschnitten oder mitunter nur perforiert und man muss noch einmal schneiden. Die Befestigungschiene des Schneidrades ist nicht stabil genug eine seitliche Torsion aufzunehmen. Bei größerem Druck drückt man die Führungsschiene nach unten (gerade bei wenigen Blättern) und das Schneidmesser kippt um 1-2 mm nach außen, weil es auf der Matte läuft. Je nach Druck entsteht beim Schneiden ein leichter Bogen oder eine leichte Wellenlinie, aber keine gerade Schneidkante. 2 Sterne für ein gut angedachtes Konzept mit ungenügender Schneidleistung. Rollschneider ging leider zurück

Excellent trimmer. Used it for cutting A4 PVC labels. Replacement blades are a bit pricey. Overall build quality is good. Very happy product.

The Carl replacement disks shown as purchased together work, but are the wrong disks. Correct Pro disks have specialty plastic cases and only the cutter and perforator are available. Perforator is micro-perf and works very well. Scoring disks don't work because cutting board is not groved so crease-through is impossible. Have scoring machine so I can see a clear difference, probably why not available on Pro model. Visit Carl site for specifics. Good cutter, just match cutting disks and skip perf disk. Note: I cut a groove on 1 side of cutting mat with Dremel and scoring wheel works well on it. Mats are 4-edges each and replaceable so now unit is complete.
