Could be great!
When working on my MAC laptop or Surface pro 3, I find the need to have an extra monitor to fully do what I need to seamlessly. I didn't want to minimize other applications or be unable to do comparisons side-by-side. I spent a 1/2 day trying to get it to connect my Surface Pro 3 but it wouldn't stay on and kept showing a black screen. I did some research and found that people were having issues with the same thing and that it was a Windows 10 problem, update the drivers. I did that by going straight to Displaylink, website, using the August 15th latest release. Still didn't work. I even downgraded my Windows 10 to 8.1 - still didn't work. Then gadget geeks mentioned to buy the y - cable 3.0 usb which I have on order. I will update to see if this works when I receive my y cable. I emailed Asus customer service - no reply yet. I gave up and tried it on my MBP, installed the driver that came with the monitor and it worked! I was sooo happy! The screen resolution was sooo clear and it was beautiful. I bought an Anker (http://smile.amazon.com/Anker-Multi-Angle-E-readers-Smartphones-Compatible/dp/B00D856NOG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442509803&sr=8-1&keywords=anker+stand) to lift it up a little more off the table so I can use the space underneath for my papers. I didn't use the case that came with it but I did try it and it works fine. The case just bugs me because the flap was in the way. If you have an iMac, be in for a surprise, it is the exact same OS platform as my MBP, it will give you a black screen and mirror all the monitors instead of extending it. When you extend it, you will see everything but once you start working on it, the screen will start showing a black trail left behind from the mouse movements and typing. This is also a known issue that DisplayLink referenced to take it back to Apple. I would give it a 5 star but knocked off 1 because of the issue with Windows 10 Surface Pro 3. The product itself definitely has a classy look to it and it's ultra light, seemingly fragile but not cheap.UPDATE:Upgrade from 4 to 5 stars. I received my y cable usb 3.0 today from Cable Matters. The cable is short but it suits my needs. I plugged it into my Surface Pro 3 and it works. I was able to do this because I have the docking station with it. If you don't have a docking stations, you would need to buy a usb hub but keep in mind that the power will be drawn from the built in port of the usb and cause the Surface Pro 3 to get warm quicker. I am loving it.UPDATE: 9/30/15One of the comments left mentioned the usb port that is on the SP3 power brick - totally forgot about it. It works that way as well but I didn't feel like getting a usb extension since I already had the docking station. If you are anything like me, the less cables, the better - I have a thing for cable management.

Own both higher and lower resolutions screens
Two years later and still loving these screens. Keep one at home and have one at work when not working at my desk already having multiple monitors. Instead, I use my extra one in in conference rooms.I own 2 ASUS USB monitors. This one has far better resolution than the less expensive one ASUS MB168B 15.6" WXGA 1366x768 USB Portable Monitor. When you are without a second monitor and on the go with your laptop, I'd recommend either as it is very productive to have an extra. I'm leaving the one having lesser resolution at work for when I go to a conference room for setup and want 2 monitors, and the better resolution screen stays at home because when not in a conf. room at work, I have a real nice setup in my office anyhow and don't need a USB screen. But the extra dollars to get this 1920x1080 is worth it. I've had the older ASUS MB168B 15.6" WXGA 1366x768 USB Portable Monitor for well over a year now and have used it a lot! I actually went to youtube to see how to setup using that odd carrying case. Once you figure it out, it works just fine. TIP: I found MoKo Foldable Tablet Stand, Universal Adjustable Portable Metal Holder Cradle for 9-12.9" Tablets, Fit iPad Pro 10.5/9.7, iPad Air, Samsung Tab E 9.6/Tab A 10.1, ASUS Zenpad, Nintendo Switch, BLACK Sold by: BSCstore and LOVE IT because of the SMALL FOOTPRINT at my house as compared to using the monitor carrying case as a prop. It's a mere $7 and you might want to add it to the purchase. ABOUT USB CONNECTIONS: though not required, I also purchased a USB-C adaptor as you may have notices laptops don't have very many old-style USB connections and this monitor takes up at least one of those connections (obviously). So I bought Part # iXCC USB Type C to USB 3.0 Type A Adapter, Charge and Sync Cable, On The Go (OTG Host Cable) for Type-C Supported Devices (6 Inch) $7 - Having only 2 old-style USB ports, and one USB-C, this comes in handy for me. WEIGHT: yes as you might think, lugging this around feels like I have about 1/2 of a laptop, but being an IT professional, I would not be without it. MISC COMMENTS: Once you load the drivers from provided disc or internet, it is simply plug into USB and there it shines! When your battery is log on your laptop, it will go out first, not to panic when that happens. Oh, REGARDING THE SIDE INPUT JACK where the cable hooks, I've NEVER had an issue as reported by some. But because I read so many concerns of this, I don't get in a hurry and am extra careful to slowly plug in / out. And like I said, I've had my initial screen well over 12 months, and am a heavy user of these screens too. Again, recommend the higher resolution, you can really tell a difference. Good luck!
