Excactly what any student needs
This graded repertoire is perfect for anyone struggling with notes and needs the TABS to actually be able to know what notes to play and still manage to exercise technique at a graded pace.I haven't played all the pieces yet as I am around grade 5-6, but from what I've read and played they are flawless. Some of these pieces have a tutorial by Simon Powis online, check them out for free. And I believe you can find a lesson on all of the pieces on their website. One last thing I would like to share is that I love the mix of composers that were chosen, there is a representation of at least one composition by every one of the great ones.

A must have...
I am re-learning classical guitar and have been looking for the best tab books around. This one is the best one by far. The runner up is the Tarrega book by Ben Bolt. That and Pumping Nylon is all you need to get you going if you are self studying guitar. Oh and also, for practice get Segovia Scales book... Super handy.

Pleased With the Content
I am a long time hobbyist with the classical guitar who strays to other types of music then comes back. I lost a number of my music books in a recent move so needed something and got this. After fooling with it for a little over a month I feel it has definitely helped. Each piece has an emphasis and going back to the beginning was eye opening when thinking of playing perfectly for a grade with appropriate tempo, tone, finger alternation, etc. Made me reconsider aspects of posture and left hand position. Pleased with the purchase and I will probably get the practice routines.

A guide through the grades
A fine selection of pieces that allow a well balanced approach to working through your grades. The pieces are picked to help devlope a range of techniques as you progress.Couple of pieces i dont believe are in the right grade but i guess it depends on the exam board you are comparing to. for example Lagrima is a grade 4 peice in all the places ive studied yet here is a grade 6. But, that is only a little niggle - Simon obvisouly sees soemthing in that piece to grade it there and i wont argue :). A lot of these pieces you can find excellent videos on youtube from the author or at least the piece played so you can hear how it should be played.I wish that Simon had released his pratcise routines in Tab as i do like his approach
