Antec Bias Lighting for HDTV with 51.1-Inch Cable (Reduce eye fatigue and increase image clarity)

This product gets 5 stars, because given the price and reasonable expectations, it fully delivers. WHAT YOU DON'T GET: If you have a pristine home theaters that costs thousands of dollars, this probably isn't the product for you. This thing is ~$20. Don't expect it to be proessionally calibrated to a perfectly neutral 65K kelvins...because it's not. Spend the extra money, and get a Perfect Lume. WHAT YOU DO GET: If you want a super easy to use, no-maintenence backlight that reduces eyestrain and allows you to better navigate a dark room, this thing is a dream. The light band itself has an adhesive backing that sticks to the back of your TV. Simply stick it on, plug the USB cord into a USB input, move the power switch to "on," and the light will turn on and off in concert with your TV. It's truly a beautiful thing. One thing to remember is that any further detail of my expereince of this product will differ from yours, as our TVs will be different distances from the wall, and our wall colors will be different, ect. -Alas, the light seems to give of a bluish tint. This is sure to scare away AV freaks, but will suit us mere mortals just fine (I'm a bit of an AV freak myself, but I live in an apartment on a budget). -Works well at night, in (otherwise) pitch dark by itself, but I also find myself leaving it on during the day, instead simply leaving off a lamp or two. -Reduces eyestrain, AKA makes watching TV in the dark easier and more enjoyable. Don't expect to be blown away at first and notice immediately a huge difference. It's moreso you DON'T notice anything, and that's how you know it's helping you. -Not gonna lie, I don't notice a big "pop" in contrast/ improved perceived picture quality...but now that I'm used to it, maybe watching without it would be noticeably worse? Hard to say. IN CONCLUSION: If you want a cheap backlight that you don't even have to manually turn on, then look no further. This no frills product will drif into the background of your set up, quietly improving your dark-room viewing experience without intruding too much. At the price for this quality, it cannot be beat.

This is my second Antec LED lighting product. I have been using the blue USB-powered 6-LED strip ( Antec Advance Accent Lighting Blue LED with 51-Inch Cable (Accent Lighting Blue) ) on my 24" computer monitor for over a year and have been very satisfied with its performance. I purchased the 55" HDTV bias lighting for my Sony Bravia KDL-46HX729 wall-mounted TV. It attaches easily via the adhesive strip and provides a very pleasant back-light. I have plugged it into one of the two USB ports on the side of my TV and it turns on and off consistently in conjunction with the TV power function. My sole issue is that the Antec light strip will turn on and then off again in seemingly random fashion while the TV is powered off. This has occurred in all hours of the day and night and, since the TV is in our bedroom, can be quite annoying. I have set all the advanced power functions on the TV to off and have tried using both USB ports with the same result. I contacted Antec product support and they were unable to troubleshoot the issue; they have issued me an RMA for my light, but I fear the issue is related somehow to the TV and a second light will react the same way. I have been troubleshooting this issue for the past two weeks and am now working on the theory that it is related to what Sony refers to as the "Download Acquisition Mode" (DAM). According to the TV's iManual, "DAM is used for software updates and/or collecting data for Rovi On-Screen Guide. When DAM is activated, power consumption may increase." I have disabled the Rovi On-Screen Guide, and we haven't noticed any night-time on/off cycling of the Antec light strip over the past three days.

Generally I don't write reviews if I'm satisfied with a product. It really takes alot for me to actually take the time to sit down and bother, as such, consider me thoroughly impressed. I'm no A/V guru, I don't have any fancy photodetectors or any of that jazz to measure light output/wavelengths/temperature etc.....They say it's 6500k output, great....Do I know for sure? Nah. Do I truly care? Not at all. Why? Because this product does what it advertises. It definitely reduces eye strain in a dark room. I did notice a really nice increase in contrast ratio with these equipped to my TV as well. Blacks are definitely deeper, overall just a much better picture. Alot of the clouding attributed to the edge-lighting is greatly diminished, but obviously, not completely gone. This is not some miracle that will make a low-end TV look cinema quality, but it gives a very noticeable difference. But truly, if not for anything else, it looks awesome. Really is a nice addition to my setup. If it didn't do all of the above and simply looked cool like it does, for the price, I'd keep it. Consider me sold on this product. Considering purchasing one for my monitor now as I type this review. I would definitely recommend purchasing two of these strips for a larger TV. I have a 60" LG LED TV, and I ran a strip about 2-3" inches from the top of the bezel and did the same for the bottom. I don't have it wrapping around or anything. Just two strips parallel to the top and bottom of the screen. Considering the whole point is to create some light AROUND the TV, not just behind it, I really can't see how a strip across the middle of the TV would be sufficient. I saved myself the potential aggravation and disappointment and just ran two from the get go. I'm quite certain I made the right decision in that regard. I'm definitely going to recommend this to my friends as a few of us are avid console gamers and all own larger TVs. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat. The USB power is a major plus for me as it turns on and off with the television; some of the other bias lighting kits are more for form over function as they change various colors and have various strobe effects. That's fine and dandy but that's just 1 more remote to my setup as well as 1 more thing that can potentially be lost or stop working. I actually preferred these for that reason. They're cheaper, simpler, less to go wrong, and they simply work, and quite well at that. Get them on your TV.

Die Beschreibung hier ist ja etwas dürftig, finde ich jedenfalls. Also... Die LED Lichtleiste ist für Tv Geräte ab 60" entwickelt, dementsprechend auch die 140cm länge der Leiste plus nochmal ein ca. genau so langes Stromkabel mit Mini An/Aus Schalter. Was für mich aber wichtig war, es muß kürzbar sein. Steht hier aber nirgendswo! Und dass ist es, alle zwei LED's ist eine Makierung und dort kann abgeschnitten werden, habe die Leiste somit für meinen 47" TV gekürzt. Um Kurven kleben, fand ich nicht so angebracht, weil die Leiste dafür einfach nicht gemacht ist, jedenfalls würde dann nicht die Wand dahinter angestrahlt. Man hat keinen Kabelsalat hinterm Gerät und sobald man den Fernseher einschaltet, kommt Strom auf den USB Anschluss und somit gehen die LEDs auch an, bzw. wieder aus. Genau das was ich brauche. Die Ausleuchtung ist genau richtig, habe die Leiste jetzt über die komplette Breite des TV Geräts angebracht. Ich kann es somit nur weiterempfehlen!

Tengo una TV de plasma de 50 pulgadas y queda genial cuando se enciende. Te permite ver películas con todas las luces del salón apagadas y creando una gran luz de ambiente blanca. Tiene interruptor de encendido y apagado, aunque en mi tele dejándolo siempre encendido las luces se iluminan a los pocos segundos de encender la TV y se apaga automáticamente a los pocos segundos de apagar la tele, por lo que su funcionamiento es perfecto. La tira es bastante larga, se puede doblar e incluso cortar (tiene marcas) y el adhesivo es más que suficiente para que no se caiga ni despegue. En mi tele tuve que pegarla haciendo una U invertida puesto que no quería cortarla y aprovechar cada uno de los leds, así además da iluminación lateral. Producto perfecto, sin duda compraría otro.

Fa quel che deve fare. Comodo e pratico 5 stelle. Collegato all'usb della mia tv e comodo tasto di accensione e spegnimento. Amazon sempre al top.

Cumple Muy bien su propósito; es una alternativa económica para contar con una iluminación de sesgo en esos maratones peliculeros o gamers! Fácil de instalar y con una iluminación decente, sin embargo, no esperes que ilumine como se ve en la caja del producto! Complemente esta luz con una lámpara led atrás de mi TV
