What is espresso powder, exactly?

Finely milled, brewed coffee—100% Arabica, medium roast. We brew coffee, gently dry it, and mill it ultra-fine (it’s not ground espresso beans). The result dissolves fast and adds deep coffee-chocolate complexity to recipes.

Recognized by America’s Test Kitchen as a Best Espresso Powder pick for baking—praised for clean, balanced flavor and reliable performance in desserts and drinks.

How much should I use in baking & desserts

Start small Chocolate cakes/brownies/cookies: ½–2 tsp to deepen chocolate without “coffee” flavor Tiramisu/cream fillings/ice cream bases: ½–1½ tsp (taste and adjust) Glazes/frostings/ganache: ¼–1 tsp, bloom in 1–2 tsp warm liquid for silky texture

Will it make everything taste like coffee?

Only if you want it to. In chocolate bakes, small amounts amplify chocolate and round bitterness without obvious coffee notes. Use more when you want a clear mocha/espresso profile (e.g., tiramisu, affogato-style sauces).

Can I use it in drinks or savory recipes?

Yes. Drinks: Stir ½–1 tsp into hot milk or syrup for lattes/mochas; whisk into milkshakes or coffee ice cream bases. Savory: Add a pinch to chili, rubs, pan sauces, or BBQ glazes to boost depth and caramelization.
