My dog’s favorite trick is to ring a desk bell
I saw a video on YouTube. A woman was teaching a dog to ring a desk bell. She puts a treat down, holds a small plastic lid over the treat. The dog tries all kinds of ways to get the treat. Dog paws the lid, human clicks to mark the behavior desired, gives dog treat. She works up to the dog tapping the bell, click, treat, happy dog who has worked her brain. I tried it with my Giant Schnauzer. She learned better than I did. Clicker training is something I hadn’t used before. My girl is a fast learner and loves to do her trick for everyone. We needed new bells because we gave the ones we had away to young friends who were excited to try their dogs tricks. One neighbor taught her cat the trick.Working in rescue I see great dogs given away due to behaviors that made the dogs problematic. Many of the popular breeds were recently working dogs. JRTs, Australian Sheepdogs, GSDs, many Terriers and all three types of Schnauzers are smart, energetic, dogs who need a challenge to keep them occupied and out of trouble. Learning tricks is a great way to give the dogs a job. I even read about two Golden Retrievers who were awful when anyone came to visit. The owners used some problem behaviors to give the dogs a way to greet guests. The dogs loved to pick pillows off the sofa and race around the house. The dogs learned, through careful training, they could greet guests by grabbing a pillow and presenting it to the guests. Sure, it sounds strange but it worked. The dogs got to be with the humans, not closed in another room away from all the fun.Anyway, the bells are adjustable with the knob on the top. If your house has hardwood, laminate or tile floors (things slide) put some rubber pads on the bottom frame of the bell. If it slides when tapped with a paw you may have a hockey player on your hands when you wanted a bell ringer.I’m sure this bell is great at being a desk bell. And there are two of them. A good deal. Two people could sit on opposite sides of a large room and practice Morse code. Just a thought.

Potty bell for puppy
The ring is not too loud but not soft at all. I feel it's just right if you're using it in your home. It's not an annoying ring at all.Note that you can tighten and loosen the top so while it will only get so loud, you can definitely adjust the ring duration and mute it quite a bit if you want it quieter. As for what we used this for, we zip tied the bells to our puppy's playpens and she learned quite quickly how to ring them. She does indeed understand if she needs to potty, ringing the bell will get her out. Of course not all dogs will have the same results, but it's worked great for us.The quality seems really good, I don't see why you'd need anything sturdier, even for a dog, though ours is about 30lbs, I suppose a larger dog could mangle it if they really wanted to.No complaints here.

Nice, heavy bell
This bell has a nice, deep pitch and is very heavy and sturdy. I replaced cheaper bell in my pizzeria with this one and this one is a lot nicer and has a more pleasant sound. The push button on top is larger and more comfortable than most other bells and this bell has a lower, more gong-like sound.

Loud
We purchased these because my fiancé is unable to speak at this time due to a medical condition and we needed something he could use to alert someone if he needs help. These things work great for that purpose. I can hear him when he is in the bedroom upstairs and I am down in the kitchen.

Just what I needed!
I am teaching remotely this fall and needed something to celebrate my students. I can ring this bell when they are working hard, making great choices, and even to call them back from a break. Plus, you get 2 bells for a great price! The bell tone is a little deeper than I expected, but it will work just fine.
