I bought this for spraying pesticides on plants. Love that it is automatic but you still have to hold the trigger. It is battery powered. My only complaint is it doesn't hold alot. But that also keps it from being too heavy.

The Petra Sprayer itself works very well.Unfortunately, id did not come with the bottle as advertised on the Amazon site.I did contact Petra, and they did admit to the posting as being incorrect. They also tried to find a bottle in the warehouse to send to me, but were not successful. Having said this, the lid is is meant for a wider mouth bottle. I was successfully able to use a Bai bottle, and I am thinking that it will also fit on a milk jug.Anyhow, the person that I spoke to at Petra was responsive, respectful, understanding and did good follow-up. Mistakes happen, and I can live with this. I am still happy with the product.

I got this as a deal paired with another Petra product. The 1 qt. bottle/jug is a polyethylene translucent white plastic, with a loop handle at the top. The screw-on lid will not fit any other common bottles you may have around the house, but i have used it with a gallon jug just by sticking the pick-up tube in the jug and using my thumb to keep the lid on. It may be possible to run the tube thru a different lid, but you have to deal with the ceramic weight at the end. I use it to spray organic pesticide in my garden, usually a gallon at a a time. The first (suppied) batteries lasted for about three gallons of spraying, or about 2 1/2 hours of continuous use. Not sure how long some good Duracells would last, my guess would be at least 3 hours of constant use. I always rinse the unit out with very hot tap water (160 deg) and am sure to pump thru until the full system is clear. I even wash the handle under the faucet completely soaking it, but not submerged, and have no problems with it working. The only real issue with the unit is that even though it says it has an "easy to squeeze" trigger that is BS. My hand gets sore from holding the trigger after about 10 minutes. There is no trigger lock to keep the trigger depressed, a serious design lapse in my opinion considering that every one of the pump sprayers i have had has that feature. On my most recent time using it the trigger seems to cut on and off, as though the switch was wearing out. The best thing about this unit is that it has convinced me to get a much larger capacity powered sprayer of better quality. They really do beat the hell out of a pump sprayer. If you ony have a 5 or ten minutes of spraying to do, maybe 2 qts, then this unit will work fine for you. If you have to spray longer, expect a sore hand. And always rinse and clean out after use!

The 1st one I purchased didn't function but Jenn really took care of me and got a new unit out to me the next day. Thanks Jen. Perfect for those like me with early arthritis, makes cleaning not so painful.

I used this sprayer to mist plants and some of my art projects. I’ve bought two, but will not be replacing the second. They both stopped working after a few months. Frustrated.Ordering one made by a known brand name

I ordered the sprayer without the bottle because the info says "Use with Standard Bottles" and I mistook "Standard Bottles" to mean the bottles that come with the common plastic pump sprayers.It also says "Compatible with most name brand bottles such as Ortho, Raid, Roundup and others."After talking with a very helpful person, Alicia, at US Plastics I discovered that the "Ortho, Raid, Roundup and other bottles" have 43 mm necks which is not the standard for the common plastic pump spray bottles.I called PetraTools asking if I could order one of the plastic bottles from them. Spoke with a very nice and helpful person, Nina, who told me that they don't sell the bottles separately. She then said that she would be glad to send me a sprayer with the bottle at no charge and that it would ship the next day. Wow! I was so surprised and grateful for this kindness. What great customer service!(The sprayer did fit on one plastic bottle that I had saved that had contained the prep for my colonoscopy (I recommend this procedure to anyone who is in the right age group to get one - it can save your life) so was able to test it. It sprays very well and is very quiet, just barely audible. We had an older spray attachment that was very noisy and had failed. This is very quiet and works well.
