A nice little stove
Burns wood very well, I've also tested my soda can alcohol burner in this. I like that I can use a fuel cube in the bowl if I need to. Good variety of fuels can be used. Sturdy stove, easy to break down, a little tricky to put together the 1st few times. Careful to put the pin back in when you've folded it up... so you'll be less likely to lose that bit!My only issue is the blue protective film was a real pain to peel off!

Great backpacking wood burning stove
Recently picked up this break down wood stove to add to my gear. i like cooking with gas on longer trips but wanted to experiment with a wood burner for fast and light overnighters. I liked the look of this one and its fairly windproof design because I camp in bad weather a lot. Gave this a try the other night and wow am i impressed.I breaks down and stores flat and this one has a bonus of including a storage and carry case. It's super light and obviously a big weight savings over a stove and gas. Set up was easy and I was pleasantly surprised by how stable it is even with a 1.6 L or 2.0 L pot on board. There is plenty of airflow through the bottom and lower sides for ventilation and a quick round up of twigs (and a little help from my Mag firestarter) and I was cooking. I guess its easy to get used to gas and forget how fast a small wood fire will boil water. I was cooking in no time. It is actually nice to hear the crackle of the fire when cooking rather than the hiss of my gas stove. I was surprised at how little wood it takes to efficiently boil water. I guess these things are tuned for airflow because it pulls in air and makes nice venturi effect. You can also use some alcohol gel instead of wood for heat but I didn't get a chance to try that yet. Probably easier in some cases such as camping in snow. After use it cools down and the stainless steel. cleans up pretty nice (I prefer to clean a bit before storage). Overall I am really happy with this thing and don't know why I didn't get on it sooner. It's definitely gonna replace my stove on shorter trips. Super happy with the build and quality and if you are thinking of making the switch to wood, then this is good choice.

Item not packaged as described. USELESS!
To my own demise, I waited a year before I opened the package. The product is sturdy, however, in the picture it shows three vertical plates all the same height to the top and then one of the plates is shorter in the middle at the top of the plate. Mine came with four plates all the same height, so one of the crossbars that his tiny slits on each side to fit on the vertical plates sits on an angle because of the slits on the crossbar (on one side) is cut shallow to accommodate for the height difference on the one plate that is shorter. Because of this I can't sit anything on top of the stove using the crossbars, defeat the purpose of the stove. I will call amazon to see if they can help. It's my fault. I shouldn't have waited so long to open but it was still sold "not as described" and unfortunately, I can't use it this way, so it's not just not exactly the way it was described, it's useless because of this mistake. This parts comes pre-assembled on appears to have been done wrong at the factory.

Excellent except for one tiny but vital component
I received the stove- shipped quickly, nice and sturdy but not heavy, fairly easy to assemble but for cats sake do NOT EVER lose the little piece of wire that connects the hinges on the one open side of the 4 panel hinged stove or you will never be able to assemble the stove properly, better to have an extra piece of wire in case the original tiny piece goes missing. Liked the fact that it came with a heavy duty carry case. Fired right up and was able to boil 2 cups of water in a camp cup within 10 minutes. Overall prefer the Emberlit but only because the Outwolves has such a potential for losing the one tiny component that renders it unusable.

Pretty good stove.
Pretty good. Larger side feeder space than the Emberlit. Smaller, lighter and much less expensive than the Solo. But gets really dirty after use so messy to disassemble.

This Stove Rocks
This was just what I was looking for, and it rocks. Excellent, sturdy build and works like a charm. I love the fact that it will burn wood or fuel. It comes in an extremely durable case and weighs in at 530 grams / 18.5 ounces. Putting it together the first time is a bit like doing a puzzle as it comes with no instructions, but it can only go together one way. You'll get it, and once you do, you'll be able to assemble it in less than a minute. Disassembly is even quicker.I noticed a comment or two about the 5 inch hinge pin being a disadvantage because if lost the stove is rendered useless. Just make sure the pin is always the last thing out of the case and the first thing in. Let it ride on the bottom the case and load everything in on top of it. Most folks in the bush will have snare wire in their kit, so that's a viable backup to fashion a pin if need be.Great price, fast shipping, excellent product. Both thumbs up.

Great concept but worst ever - impossible to assemble!
I bought the original last fall (no top plate or hinge pin) and have never been able to assemble it. No directions but I'm sure I've tried all possibilities. Would need to cut or file multiple edges to get it put together. I should have returned but stubbornly thought I could make it work.

Burns a load of wood easily and makes a good hot fire for heating chili or to boil water quickly, and it can put out enough heat to warm you up some on a cold day in the woods. The downside is the metal plates warp significantly and it also lacks an effective ash pan.
