5-1/8 inch (Pack of 2) Overall Length Springs Replacement Recliner Sofa Chair Mechanism Tension Spring Parts

My mother-in-law lives with us. She is 81 years young. She has a lift recliner that has four springs (2 for the lift action and two for the foot rest), but one of the springs broke. I did some quick measurements of the broken spring and search on Amazon for a replacement. Perfect size and fairly easy to install. Will keep the second spring as a future replacement.

I received the item just fine. The quality was great but I purchased the wrong size and had to return.

Even though these were 1/2" longer than the original springs, they worked. Sent one pair back that was the same length as original. Even though the same length and coil diameter, the springs were made of thicker steel and don't stretch as far. Bought this longer set and still had to use a large pry bar to get them to stretch into place. They work, just be ready to do some serious pulling or buy longer ones. Due to the tight angle of the holes I needed to use, it was not as easy to install as I hoped. However , it only took about 15 minutes of trying and retrying.Ultimately, I used a screwdriver, holding both sides to pull the spring down far enough to catch the bottom attachment enough to tap it into place.The black plastic pieces on the hooks had to come off to fit the hole for one attachment. The other fell off during my attempts to install the other side.Overall, it worked great.

Had to remove plastic from ends so it would hook into holes. Fit my stratolounger perfect!

Hard to get on, but they work and the coated ends are great.

Used vice grips to stretch on ....no problem
