Quality laptop that is easy to use and performs very well
I have only had the laptop 3 days. However, I have found it very easy to set up and using a Toshiba hard drive have transferred all the data from my old Windows 7 dell laptop. I also bought a bundle of sofware that included Office 365 and McAfee, this was easy to install and is working well. The start up time and performance is amazing compared to my old machine. Build quality is very good and I like the feel of the keyboard. The keys are larger than on my old machine and are very positive.

Intel -5-8265U with M.2 SSD - quite impressed
After seeing a few negative reviews on the intel's I was concerned, but needn't have been. There seems to be lots of variation over the years, mine purchased Jan 2020 is the 8GB with 256GB M.2 SSD.Boot time is very fast, around 5 seconds! I am shutting down in Windows, it could be some hibernation trick but it does not seem like that. There are two user account, mine and my partners, both load quickly. The screen is fine, viewing angle it not too bad. Laptop did slow a little one time when installing some large programs, but Windows was running a million updates at the same time too.Overall impressed, nice and light. No backlit keyboard, no issue for me. Just used for sitting on the sofa, coding, browsing, etc..Fan kicks in sometimes, not too noisy at all. I plan on updating the RAM to 16GB and maybe adding a second hard drive, I haven't opened it up to see what it can take.

Great Laptop for Everyday Use
I picked this up for my grandmother who is in her 60s and decided she wants to join the online world. While yes, it is quite overpowered for her use case of just using Google, I wanted to make sure she has a laptop that runs smoothly and is lasts her a long time. The first thing I noticed about the laptop is how light yet well-built it is. The laptop is made of plastic, however it really feels and looks like brushed metal giving it bit of a premium feel and look. When we turned on the laptop I also noticed how amazing the display is. At 14" a 1080p resolution works perfectly. The thing that amazed me about this display is its colours though. I don't think it's an IPS display as the vertical viewing angles aren't the greatest but the colours do look like those on an IPS. While vertical viewing angles aren't great, horizontal viewing angles are perfect. The display also gets quite bright as initially it was actually set to only 60% brightness and was still brighter than any laptop I had used before. The speakers are of decent quality and when on max volume can easily fill up the room with sound with it even being heard in the next room. I can't comment on the mic or camera quality as they haven't been used yet, however I wouldn't expect much as even expensive laptops have rubbish mics and cameras and these are things that are usually bought separately anyways. The keyboard is good, with the keys having a really nice feel to them. It is an island style keyboard, with nice keys that are a bit larger than on most laptops and the letters printed on them are larger too which has helped my elderly grandmother a lot with being able to see each letter. The track-pad both tracks and clicks really well. It has the standard gesture control as on any other track-pad and I really liked the feel of it.Now onto the specs and performance. I'll start off by saying that it's ridiculous to see laptops with only 4GB of RAM in 2020. This amount of RAM really is unacceptable and ridiculous, it is not enough for anything other than maybe having 2 or 3 web browser tabs open. I know it's easy to buy another 4GB stick on Amazon and upgrade yourself but this isn't something we should be doing. Laptops should come with 8GB of RAM minimum, an 8GB stick of RAM only costs 10 quid more than a 4GB one to buy. With that being out of the way I must say that everything runs really fast and smoothly as you would expect with an SSD. The Ryzen 3 processor, while being the entry-level Ryzen, is more than enough for normal daily tasks which this laptop has been used for over the past week. Installing, downloading and unzipping programs went smoothly without hiccups. Video playback with the integrated Vega graphics was also smooth with no dropped frames and with videos loading/starting instantly. The only issue is the RAM limitation when you want to open more than a few tabs or want to have another programme running at the same time, it is then when things start to slow down but not massively so. I plan to fix this issue by adding another stick of RAM in the future once my grandmother learns how to use more programmes. Finally the battery life. As my grandmother has only used the laptop for a week I don't have much data to work with but so far so good. Watching HD video on YouTube for about 3 hours only drained the batter to about 50-60% with the brightness set to max, which is a great result for a laptop at this price and a result that some of the more expensive laptops don't achieve. If the battery life changes I will update the review. To sum things up.PROS- Build-quality- Compact and Lightweight- Speedy for daily tasks- Price- BatteryCONS- Only 4GB RAM ( I would take off only half a star but Amazon allows full stars)

Good start - shaky service
I was happy with this when I received it; slim, lightweight, liked the feel of the keypad, fast speed. However in general use, find keypad sometimes unresponsive on certain letters, and touchpad OK for movement, but sometimes unresponsive to "click", almost impossible to get "right click" right. I've resorted to attaching a mouse by wire! Most disappointing is that within a month of use, the camera has just stopped working for no apparent reason.Tried all troubleshooting procedure three times before finally getting a response from help feedback, which was to return for "investigation and possible repair". 1) I don't want a brand new computer repaired (although on checking the warranty that does seem to be all they offer) 2) I don't want to send it away because I'm relying on it heavily at the moment during lockdown as my main form of communication - which is why the camera is so important at this time.Update: I have now returned this item via Amazon and will be getting a refund. Thank you Amazon for your protection!

A go to laptop for the lockdown
Okay, so I'll be clear, I bought this because I needed a laptop that could take the Microsoft Package, work with multiple active tabs at once and give decent video calling. i.e. a lockdown laptop. I am very happy with this purchase, it does everything I need plus some more (I downloaded Sims 4 and it works great). As light as a notebook but with the memory and capability of any standard laptop. The battery is good (but be mindful of your apps, video calling is draining but isn't it for all of us!) and it charges wonderfully quickly. Very happy and will be taking it with me when I re-enter study next year, ideal for students and anyone who needs a portable laptop with decent performance.

Great for office and web browsing.
I tried playing World of Warcraft on this machine at graphic option 3 out of 10, I get 30 to 60 frames out of it. I know its not supposed to be used like this but for what this laptop is it has surpassed my expectations. Its super fast to boot up, really responsive and has a 2 and a half hour battery life even when gaming on it. Honestly for a ryzen 3 with vega mobile graphics and 4 gig of ram it is really powerful. Asus is one of the best if not the best option for laptops. Oh yeah as expected the screen is great if you set it up right.
