VIVOHOME 1840GPH Bio Pressure Pond Filter with 13W Light for Various Ponds

I have a small ~700 gallon Koi pond with a waterfall. The pong is about 4' deep. I've struggled for years with brown or green water that made it difficult to see the fish. My home grown filter was also a major pain to clean. I decided to purchase a "VIVOHOME Pressurized Biological Pond Filter, 1840GPH" filter along with a "VIVOHOME Electric 120W 2700GPH" pump and 20' of 1" flexible tubing. Setting up the filter and pump were straight forward and easy. Below are my observations about performance: After 24 hours I noticed a remarkable improvement. The water was a lighter shade or brown/green and I could see fish shapes about 6" deep. After 48 hours the water was light brown in color and I could see fish about 12" deep. After 72 hours the water was slightly brown but I could see about 4' down. As I write this, the filter has been running 96 hours. The water is crystal clear and I can see the bottom of the pond clearly and I'm completely satisfied with the filter and pump combination. When setting up the pond I located the pump at the far end of the pond and away from the water fall and placed it on a plant shelf about 12-14" deep. I located the pump here to improve water circulation and also to keep the pump out of the muck that accumulates on the bottom of the pool. The pump is pushing water through 20' of one inch tubing. The water fall flow is more than adequate, but if I had to do it over again I would have used 1 1/4" tubing for increased flow. I'm happy with my purchase. The filter is easy to clean and mess free, which was not the case with my old home grown filter. I should have done this years ago. I hope this review is helpful. Best wishes.

This filter is fantastic!!! I’ve been struggling since last year with my pond water and I’m never able to keep it clear. I was using a pump and basic in-water filter that I had to clean every 2-4 days. The green algae was out of control this spring and I was about to do another full water change. But once I installed this filter, it took literally 36 hours to go from dark green/brown murky, to crystal clear. I’m thrilled and I’m sure my fish are too! I love the cleaning feature, I’ve been emptying that and using the waste water to fertilize my gardens. The setup was very simple and I was able to do it myself in 5 minutes using my existing pump and waterfall. I wish I switched to this filter earlier, it’s made my life so much easy and my pond so much cleaner!!

Works great! I have a 470 gallon above ground koi pond I could never see into. Now the water is crystal clear. Would definitely buy again if needed!

Amazing filter, my stock tank turtle pond was green, within a week it had turned the water clear again.

Terrible pressurized biological system. Mine keeps putting off electrical surges and shocking my fish. The wheel to turn sponges for cleaning barely gets filter clean. Took it apart to clean sponges and now system leaks bought March 2026 her we are may 17th 2026 and system broke. I had fish for 20 years and other canisters and never had this much issue. To late for refund. Waiting to hear from company to see if manufacture warranty will replace it. I got shocked and my fish

I Ordered Vivo filter for $171 (with tax) in April 2023. I received it on April 13, 2023, Installed it in late May 2023 when the weather became warmer to work outside and to clean the pond. The filter cleaned well initially but after a month when the sun became more hotter, algae started forming in the water and settled in the floor of the pond. Water remained clear more or less and I cleaned any algae that were floating with my pond net, and also cleaned the pond filter as per the instructions that came with the VIvo Pond filter. Three weeks back (early August 2023) the entire circuit started tripping. After troubleshooting I found the Vivo Pond filter was the reason the line was tripping (i have GFCI circuit breaker). The pond pump and the Tetra UV filter are working fine but soon as I plug in the VIvio filter system, the circuit breaker trips. I sent couple of customer service request through Amazon which directs you to Vivo website but have received no response. Calls made have not been responded. Absolutely awful customer service! For a Pond filter that costed $171 breaking up within 3 months of installation is really shows the very bad quality of the system. On top of that no response from customer service is very annoying as this is still under warranty period and you would expect some sort of troubleshooting or replacement but if they dont respond at all then you have no option. Amazon sent an email after I put in the customer claim inquiring whether I received any response from Vivo and I responded stating "No Response". Haven't heard back from Amazon either since then. I am going to call Amazon customer service directly to see if they can help. But this is a very poorly constructed pond filter system and not worth $171 with an awfully poor customer service. DO NOT RECOMMEND! PLEASE DONT BUY. Update 09/02/2023: customer service got back to me and today I received a new one. Changing my rating accordingly.

Works great. Even in this heat it keeps pond clearer. The rotating cleaner has worked well.

Bought these before. After a while when the bacteria gets growing I rarely even rinse this out. Works very well and clears up a murky pond nicely. Definitely recommend

Amazing. Could not get my fish pond to clear up because of the heat this summer, so thought I would try this unit. Amazing. Within a week the pond was crystal clear. Would definitely recommend for any pond.

Excellent product and works very well. Only concern is that the instructions are non existent. Had to watch a YouTube to figure it out. Took about 24 hours to clear my pond to crystal clear water! Fish are happy, I’m happy and I definitely recommend.

This thing literally exploded on me

Product so far is amazing. Has been working for about 8 weeks and the water is still clear. No adverse affect on the fish or plants. Excellent value for the money.
