This is a great brush for removing static and everyday dust. If you're looking for a more vigorous clean, I'd recommend using something else. I love the handle and how it folds to be very compact and keep the bristles dust free.

I am very glad I purchased this record brush. I have been using an original Discwasher brush since the 1980’s, but was having issues with loud static popping with a new phono cartridge. I clean all of my new and used records on a cleaning machine and put them in poly sleeves before playing, so my records are not that dirty. Using my Zerostat gun to address the static pops is inconvenient, so I wanted to try a brush that dusted the record and drained static at the same time. After watching a great internet video on record brushes, I copied an experiment that tests static discharge by using a PVC pipe charged with a hand towel and dropped into a pile of packing peanuts. I compared my Discwasher to the Hudson Hifi brush and a Purest Audio CAS-B9 brush. The Discwasher did nothing to discharge static, while both carbon fiber brushes worked way better than expected to remove static just by touching the bristles to the PVC pipe. Unfortunately, the bristles on the Purest Audio brush felt and sounded too abrasive for me, so I returned it. The Hudson Hifi brush bristles are very soft and attached to the handle much more securely. Next, I compared cleaning ability between the two remaining brushes using a small handheld microscope and a record that I had rubbed on my sofa cushion before each test cleaning. I could not see any real difference between the Discwasher and Hudson Hifi brushes in their ability to remove dirt/dust. Neither brush left behind any bristles/fibers. The added time and work required to apply drops of liquid to the Discwasher, spreading the droplets across the brush and zapping the record with the Zerostat after cleaning resulted in no real difference when compared with the record cleaned with the Hudson Hifi brush in my opinion. For that reason, I have switched to the Hudson Hifi brush after so many years of using the Discwasher. Granted, I would still clean a record with fingerprints with the Discwasher because the fluid would be helpful if you don’t have a record cleaning machine, but the Hudson Hifi brush is my choice for my pre-play dust-off. At this price, it’s a no-brainer.

works great on my old LPs, which have been sitting in storage for 15 years. the records are filthy and this cleaner has worked well. Care should be used, not to push down too hard and stress the turntable or damage the records. So far, this has worked well to optimize the play quality of these old records.

I use this brush to take the lint and dust and debris off records before each and every play, place the record on the turntable and brush away for a few revolutions, and then a few revolutons the opposite way. I then slide it off so there's no residue, that's my method and you can actually see the lint coming off the record. I also use this on the pro ject cleaning unit before I wash the records, Either way its a must to use before playing any records. This one works well and you can clean the bristles by moving the handle back and forth and again see the lint and dust coming off. The only down side is sometimes the handle pops off a little too easy, but it works and gets the job done, and the bristles are soft and you don't have to worry about scratching the record no matter what your method is. Never realized how important this dry cleaning step is, but its vital, and this brush does the job very well

I was in desperate need of a brush for my vinyl because the static was out of this world. I purchased this brush thinking it would do just that, remove the dust. I never expected it to actually fix the skip in not one, but two of my precious vinyl albums. I would highly recommend this product. Great quality and awesome customer service from the company itself. Buy this brush, not the others, you won't regret it.

If you are into vinyl music, you must have this. It has very good anti static properties and ever since I started using it, there are no pops or clicks, just pure music. Use it before playing the record and preferably after play, before putting the record back in the sleeve. Highly recommended

I purchased this to replace a 25 year old brush no longer working properly. The Hudson brush is doing the job exceptionally well.
