    Good for the price.

Can't add much to the reviews already given. Yes it could do with being an inch or two longer and yes there is limited space for drives as a result. If you really need to install 5 or 6 hard drives then give it a miss, otherwise you will probably have enough space for most things. What I would like to know is where on earth you get spare parts for this, I can't find a drive-bay cover anywhere to match the single one it came with. This case has screw-less fittings which means you can get into it without a screw-driver. There are screw-less clamps for holding CD-ROM drives and hard-drives etc. I found my hard-drive was a bit too loose for me so I used screws instead. Otherwise they were OK.Overall the design is quite nice, it looks fairly smart (I don't spend a lot of time drooling over my cases). I always find removing the metal rear expansion port covers a problem, the ones here are no different either and I managed to cut my finger on one of them - ouch!Cooling is good, there's plenty of grills and lots of options for installing fans. There's also an air-duct which lines up with the CPU which apparently helps with cooling.Despite what others have said it IS possible to remove the front panel. I had a hard time finding out how as I figured you would have to nudge out some plastic retainers. In the end though I found if you just pull from the bottom the front comes off.Overall I thinks it's pretty good especially for the price.

    Manufacturing Defect

*by A***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 February 2011*

This is a warning rather than a review (but relates to some of the other reviews); there appears to be a manufacturing defect in some of these cases, including the one I have just bought and am returning to Amazon (which I expect they will deal with in their usual customer-friendly manner). This is the third such case I have purchased over the last couple of years; in this one, the internal hard drive cage has been incorrectly fitted, right against the front of the case, leaving no room to mount front case fans. (They cannot be fitted under the fascia either, as they'd foul the front USB port assembly.) Since it is riveted in place, the fault is not user-rectifiable.Since I've got two of the cases already, I was in a position to realise this last one was faulty, rather than badly designed! The design itself is brilliant, and is great value for money, hence my wanting to buy a third!PS In my opinion as a system builder of quiet PCs, blowing air in from the front with a 12cm, slower-spinning and designed-to-be-quiet fan is a far better option for overall system cooling, along with similarly specified power supply and CPU coolers, (with, where possible, passive cooled GPU and northbridge chip heatsinks).

Cheap and nasty, last resort case.

*by D***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 February 2008*

I bought one of these cases to replace a Dell dimension E521 that was worn out.The case is packaged in a bog-standard brown cardboard box with a black picture of the case on the outside. The case has the usual packing materials to stop it getting dented on its trip to you.On opening the case, which is easy to do with thumb screws on both sides of the outer shell, youll notice a small bag containing some motherboard mounting screws, a speaker for attachment to the motherboard and some other miscellaneous screws which might or not not come in useful.Despite the case being advertised as having 4x80mm fans and a 120mm, it actually only comes with 1x80mm fan mounted at the back. (thats in the small print.. you dont get fans for 20 quid!!)Having lots of parts spare, finding some fans for the case wasnt a problem, however fitting them is a major problem because of the design of the case. The cases interior has 4x5.25 in drive bay slots which have 2xscrewless mountings, aka. a piece of wire!. Thats a problem to start with, not only is the screwless mounting flimsy in the n'th degree but for all 4 drive bays they only give you 2 pieces of wire.Below the 5.25in drive bays come the lengthy row of 6x3.5in bays, behind which lie the mountings for 2x80mm fans or a 120mm fans........ but you cant remove the drive bays to get at the screw holes making it virtually impossible to actually mount anything there!!Because of the placement of the drive bays, and given the midi nature of the case, if you have a largish motherboard (that takes up the entire bottom of the motherboard try in the case - non removable tray) then some of the 3.5in drives, when mounted in the bays, will actually interfere with the motherboard - stopping you inserting sata cables, or even stopping you putting a graphics card in unless you use less drives and the ones you do use, you spread out. Effectively rendering the claim of 6 drive bays useless! The front of the case is black plastic with a silver mesh at the base. It has 2 usb ports, a mic input and a headphone socket all with corresponding internal cables for connection to your motherboard of choice. The front is not removable, a fact which only helps hinder mounting of the front fans. All in all i am sorely disappointed in this case. My old Dimension E521 case, although aged and in need of TLC, is far better designed and built. Its 'definitely' a budget case for people who dont want to fit much in the thing!
