Works like crazy
This tiny little letter opener was ordered out of curiosity I never dreamed it would work so great because of the price It was so cheap but wow it opens about twenty letters a day with no problem. It’s small and super easy to use. Much better than the old knife looking openers. It cuts a razor line along top of envelope with ease. Highly recommend

Small and mostly functional
This is a small and sleek. Though it works most of the time, every so often it only slices the envelope halfway through.

Best letter opener, never catches on envelope
This thing works awesome. It's pricier than the cheap "pointy hook/razor cutting" openers, but I liked this new one so much I purchased a second one. Never catches on the envelope, never have to worry about finding the little hole at the top of the envelope, it just works simple and easy. I'm using it and waiting to see if the ceramic blades wear out.The only warning: Tap your letters to the bottom of the envelope first, otherwise when you cut the envelope open you might also cut your letter in half. This envelope opener is that good.

Decent and nifty to have on the desk
This is a pretty decent letter opener although if the envelope is using thin paper, it takes multiple passes to open it properly. It performs best when cutting those thicker envelopes you'd get from say a premium credit card offer. It's nice and compact and won't potentially hurt a child which is why I got it instead of a typical letter opener but in terms of ability to open envelopes, it's just passable.

It's a clever little letter opener, but takes a knack to use
The letter opener seems made to be a pocket gadget, but for me, as a hand-held device, it did not work well this way. Instead, I've used double-stick foam mounting tape to mount it to a cabinet, and in this manner it works superpbly. It slices through one layer of paper, right at the edge of the envelope, so there is no scrap of paper to throw away. I hold the envelope corners in two hands, slightly stretched apart, and zip-feed one end of the envelope through the opener, as it does its slick little slicing trick.

Don't waste your money
Works great - for 2 or 3 letters. Then it becomes a total dud. I really liked it - when it worked. I even tried taking it apart and fixing it and bought a second one. The second one was good for 5 or 6 letters. Then same thing. It became a total dud. Doesn't cut anything. It's a shame, but this item is a total piece of garbage

Other reviews scared me. Other reviews were wrong!
This thing is awesome!!! At first I wasn't sure I was going to like it, or that I was going to have problems like the others, but I have to say my experience so far has been stellar! This thing slices my envelopes right open and I have personally yet to slice one letter on the inside. Honestly, I have no idea what these other people are doing, but for me, I use the top of the envelope (where the flap is) put one corner in the slot, pull through, and get out my mail!I even like the attention to detail on the cutter itself where they have shaped the blade so it's slightly angled down. Why is that important? When you're pulling the mail through, it 'pulls the envelope down' deeper into the slot. I know this because I took it apart to put magnets on the inside so I could stick it to my fridge and accidentally put the blade back in upside down, and I couldn't get a cut to go more than an inch! Flipped it back over, and voila.... full-length cuts again right away! Looking at the blade under a microscope confirmed what I saw.The *only* thing I can knock them on (but won't deduct a star because it wasn't advertised as such) is that they really should've put magnets on the inside themselves so you can stick it on a fridge, the side of your desk, etc. It's so small it'll be easy to lose. That's why again, I took mine apart and added them myself. Plus, bonus... now I have a magnet to stick crap to my desk with! It's actually holding up a parking ticket I have to pay. :)
