Review: Great fan. Strong air output, well made. - Our bedroom faces East, and gets blasted by the Sun for a good five or six hours. We have a pretty good portable air conditioner, but the room felt like the hot box on the Bridge on the River Kwai, even with the a/c running continuously. We needed something to circulate the cold air coming from the a/c, as the stream of air coming out of it isn’t very powerful (though it is nice and cool.) We were so desperate for a respite from the heat we hung a thick blanket over the entire window, to block out as much Sun and heat as possible. That helped a bit, but wasn’t enough to make our Easy Bake Oven bedroom comfortable. Sleeping was difficult, to say the least. We researched fans on desertcart, and this one got good reviews. But there was a problem; this fan was out of our budget. We are both on fixed incomes, and have to watch every dollar. But we really didn’t want to buy another big box store fan that would work for four months, then conk out. And we wouldn’t be finding a fan powerful enough to make a difference at the low price points of big box store fans. Happily, this fan was available on a payment plan. (Thank you, desertcart!!!) We counted the hours till it arrived, as we were very tired of feeling like rotisserie chickens rotating beneath those red light bulbs. We plugged it in, and tried it out. Let me tell you- the lowest setting on this fan is stronger than the highest setting of air output of any fan we have ever tried. The medium setting is VERY powerful. As for the highest setting- I was leaning down with my face in the stream of air to test it, and I thought my eyelashes were going to blow off. And that is a good thing! Finally, a fan that was REALLY going to make a difference! And- it really does make a difference. We have the fan on top of the a/c unit, with the output nozzle pulled all the way down, so the stream of air from the fan is very close to the stream of air from the a/c. We have had over a month of 90+ days, and this fan has been a life saver. We try not to run the a/c at night to save money, and the fan is strong enough to keep us both pretty cool. That is, a whole LOT cooler than we were before we bought it! Sleep, thank goodness, is possible again. And the combo of fan + a/c cools the room down almost instantly, whereas before, it took at least 1/2 hour for the a/c to reduce the dense cloud of heat in that stuffy room. As we knew we would be running the fan often, and with it being a higher-priced appliance, we bought the 3 year protection plan to go with it for peace of mind. If you are tired of fans that seem they will really cool off a room but end up being wimpy, we *highly* recommend this fan. One thing: it can get loud, especially at the two highest settings. For us, it’s not uncomfortably loud. It’s a “oh I can hear a fan going” kind of loud. The comfort the fan provides is such a happy relief the sound level of it running is not a deal breaker at all. So for us, the fan’s volume is not a problem. If you are on the fence about trying this fan, you should absolutely go for it. With the weather seemingly on course to be uncomfortably hot from now on for a large portion of the year, and having to endure months of 90 degree temperatures, this fan is REALLY coming in handy, and we are glad we purchased it. **Q: My fan only has one speed no matter which setting its on. Is that normally a problem?**
A: Yes, this is a problem with these fans. The company I work for gets these fans and within a month or two, no matter the setting, it will only blow on low. We have seen this with the Lasko X-style fnas that have both the manual switch and the press buttons. Lasko knows this is an issue and refuses to address it.

**Q: How long is the cord?**
A: Sorry I don’t know. But this is the best fan I have found. My husband was a drummer and used it at shows. The bass player had one as well.

**Q: Would this fan be safer in regards to fan blades and small children than others like the wind machine?**
A: Short answer is yes. With a minor cautionary note. This is an enclosed unit using what some call a squirrel box fan, think old timey steam boat paddles. So there is no external blades and short of a child sized finger left to be worked into the enclosure this is in my opinion much safer than traditional three or four blade fans. I'd choose it over any other except an ion type. Hope that helps.

**Q: Where is the cord storage?**
A: The cord is on the other side. There is no designated storage area that I’m aware of. You can lay it on the bottom plate in the back of the fan.

This fan is amazing, use it frequently while playing in a band. Air feels colder, great output, and the two outlets on it allow me to charge my phone. I also appreciate the fuse it as in case of a surge! Its compact, easily adjustable, just need a stable surface for it to sit on, not overly loud in my opinion. Worth the purchase, I had a fellow band mate buy one as well because of how well mine was.
