Excellent for artists. A must in your art material box.
Excellent for artists. A must in your art material box. Cleans old dirt, leaves the bristles soft and in shape. Ideal for artists of oil, acrylic and watercolor. Don't try with commercial paints sticked on old brushes. This is an everyday cleaning product. Soft for your art brushes. Cleans art paints from your brushes once you finish to use the brush. Your brushes will last in good shape, resistant and very cleaned. A good practice: change the water often while you paint. If you leave the brushes too much time in the dirty, cleaning brushes water, that will damage your pricey brushes. You can make a wash and place them out the water can. After finishing, clean all the brushes with this soap

Outstanding product, but don't use it for your cosmetics brushes.
I bought this to use for cleaning my artists' brushes, and it is superb for that use. It's quick and easy to use, and it leaves my brushes smooth, silky, and glossy. I consider it as much a brush conditioner as a brush cleaner. I am going to get out my old ratty brushes that I was ready to throw out and use it on them, and I expect it to work a miracle on them. I have some cosmetics brushes that are in bad shape too, and I noticed some reviewers are using this product on their cosmetics brushes. I had reservations about doing that because I'm very careful about what I allow to come into contact with my skin. Any toxic ingredient will be absorbed right into your bloodstream. Just because a product is gentle does not mean it is nontoxic. I looked everywhere on the product and on the web trying to find a list of ingredients, and they were nowhere to be found. So I contacted the General Pencil Company that makes this product and asked them for a full list of their ingredients and whether it can be used for cosmetic brushes. This is the reply I received: "We have heard that many people use this product for their make-up brushes however since this is not tested for cosmetic use we are unable to recommend for cleaning your cosmetic/eye liner brushes. The ingredients in our brush Cleaner is proprietary information. The Masters® Brush Cleaner is tested and certified for safety by the Art & Creative Materials Institute" The fact that the ingredients are "proprietary information" and they will not release them to the public AND the fact that they do not recommend using their product for cosmetic brushes is all I need to convince me never to use it for that. The company knows what is in their product--we don't--and they say not to use it on cosmetics brushes. Don't take a chance with your health. Use a product designed for cleaning cosmetic brushes. It may not leave them as gorgeous as this product does, but it will be formulated for that purpose and required to comply with government regulations for that use. For your artists' brushes, though, get this product. It is hands down the best art brush cleaner I've ever used or even heard of. It's probably the best in the world. Don't hesitate to use it on your brushes. Just not on your skin or cosmetics brushes. I recommend getting this smaller size to keep in your artist's bag to carry around with you and a larger size to keep at home for all your household brushes, like the ones you use to paint rooms with.

The Masters Brush Cleaner and Preserver works incredibly well and does exactly what it promises. It cleans my brushes thoroughly and brings them back to life after use, even when dealing with stubborn paint. I’ve used it on different types of brushes and it consistently delivers great results. I love that it’s non-toxic and easy to use, making cleanup quick and stress-free. If you care about your brushes and want them to last, this is an absolute must-have. I loved it and wouldn’t be without it now.

Good stuff
Works great, as good or better than the liquid type and less to store

Quickly releases paint off my brushes
Acrylic paints are released quickly by a simple swirl onto the masters brush cleaner. I keep it on the sink and quickly protect my brushes during and after painting. Easy to use

Easy to use, even for a novice
I first learned of this at art therapy for cancer survivors It cleans the brushes that we used so well! We painted with acrylic paint. I was very pleased with the ease of use and how long it lasted. Great purchase for me because I plan to keep my new brushes a long time

Works great on freshly used brushes, not for dried on paint though.
This is super easy to use and doesn't take a lot of time or effort, however I am docking one star because it really doesn't do anything for brushes that have pain dried on them. I don't always have the option to jump up and wash my brushes immediately as I'm painting, and this is my first time buying something specifically for cleaning my paint brushes so... I had some that have seen use and were not "properly" cleaned, I guess. This really didn't help with that. It also doesn't seem to work well when cleaning sealer/varnish, which I guess it doesn't advertise doing... but still, had hoped that it would work for that as well. All in all though, good product, will definitely buy again!

Best way to keep my brushes clean and soft. I’ve been able to use some of mine for decades, thanks to this brush cleaner.
