Make sure you use a sheet or trash bag when you change it out so you don't get ink everywhere. There was a little bit of ink on the inside of the printer when I replaced it.I thought I was going to have to send it back at first. It was still printing very bad after I replaced the drum. I decided to give it a few days to see if you would clear up. Glad I waited, it now prints perfect.

I first tried a compatible brand, but it was not worth the savings. Had to return it and lost some valuable time

As with every other item I have purchased from Amazon this Brother Drum Unit worked fine. Thank you for the consistently good products. Bill!

I purchased a brand new genuine brother laser toner drum over a remanufactured one. It is working great. I use my copier a lot and I didn't want to chance using a used one.HOWEVER: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE VENDER (OC PRODUCTS) THAT SENT ME THE LASER TONER DRUM. I SOMEHOW ORDERED TWO AND PAID $167 FOR EACH. I E-MAILED THE VENDOR WITHIN AN HOUR OF THE PURCHASE AND TRIED TO CANCEL ONE. THEY E-MAILED ME BACK SAYING THAT IT WAS TOO LATE TO CANCEL ONE OF THE DRUMS BECAUSE IT HAD ALREADY SHIPPED. WHEN THE TWO ARRIVED I TOLD THE UPS DRIVER THAT I DID NOT WANT TWO AND HE SAID TO REFUSE IT AND HE WOULD SEND IT BACK TO THE VENDOR. ONE MONTH LATER I STILL HAVE NOW RECEIVED A CREDIT FOR THE ONE I SENT BACK.

That being said, the OEM drum that I bought from one of Amazon's 3rd party sellers worked well, too, but then it started messing up. So my recommendation here is cautiously qualified.The other thing that bothered me is that Amazon's 3rd-party "guarantee" did not cover the drum (not to be confused with these toner cartridges) because it worked for "a while" and then became defective after a few weeks. If the 3rd party company had not changed their minds about not covering it (initially they said I was SOL), I would have just been out $150. So I am a little more apprehensive about buying from one of Amazon's 3rd-party sellers than I used to be. I guess when you get used to being the world-wide dominant retailer, you can afford to not give a rat's tail whether a few people get shafted by your business partners.

Product worked good at first, but after about 2,000 pages it's telling me it needs to be replaced. Not very impressive.

Great product but still hate paying these high prices for toner.

Came in Brother box, factory direct. No instructions even though there was a piece of paper that said follow inclosed directions...Luckily 1. its not hard to swap it out even with no instructions. 2. I had instructions on how to reset the counter because I also put in a new belt kit at the same time and it did come with directions.
