In 1980, MOTORHEAD released their fourth album Ace Of Spades. Loud, fast and overwhelmingly heavy, Ace of Spades would propel MOTORHEAD into the ranks of Heavy Metal's elite and 25 years later is still considered a benchmark album in its genre. MOTORHEAD - Ace Of Spades Classic Album sees Lemmy, "Fast" Eddie Clarke and Philip "Philthy Animal" Taylor talk candidly about the writing and recording of the album and the goings on inside the MOTORHEAD camp at the time. Watch "Fast" Eddie as he demonstrates how the riff for Ace Of Spades came about, and see the trio (with the help of modern technology) together on the same stage once again. Also featured are exclusive interviews with the likes of Slash (Guns & Roses, Velvet Revolver), Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Dave Brock (Hawkwind), and many more. At the front of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal is MOTORHEAD. Formed in 1975 by former Hawkwind bassist Lemmy Kilmister, the band endured several lineup changes in its early years, and the revolving door lineup began again, with Lemmy continuing to be the driving force of MOTORHEAD. Track Listing (featuring cuts from): 1. Ace Of Spades 2. Love Me Like A Reptile 3. Shoot You In The Back 4. Live To Win 5. Fast And Loose 6. (We Are) The Road Crew 7. Fire, Fire 8. Jailbait 9. Dance 10. Bite The Bullet 11. The Chase Is Better Than The Catch 12. The Hammer

Far more about the band than the album
This documentary is far more about the band and the characters that made up the group than the Ace of Spades album. It starts off with Lemmy since he was in the music game for quite some time and then about how the band partied, toured, had conflicts with each other, their roadcrew, etc. The album comes second to all that. That doesn’t mean there’s not a lot of music because there is. Drummer Phil Taylor is a real jokester and had me chuckling throughout.

Very, very cool addition to my Motorhead collection
I wasn't sure what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. They did extensive interviews with the 3 members and they were great interviews. Most of the interview with Philthy he was sitting with Lemmy (happy to see there's no hard feelings). Lemmy is very entertianing but Philthy is a riot. Great interviews with Fast Eddie was well. Love the parts where they play the songs on their respective instruments. Very entertaining. Worth every penny I paid for it

Great Interview, this is not a concert
In a simple way, in this DVD you'll see:A lot of interviews with original line up members (Fast Eddie, Phil Taylor and obviously Lemmy) talking about how they released Ace of Spades in datails like the picture that appears as cover, why Lemmy was bumped from Hawkwind and other stuff.Something great is when they played (with help of tech) the chase is better than the catch, it is going to kick your ass.If you want a live concert buy 25th still alive & boneshaker DVD, but if you want to know more about the band and very good details buy this.

The history of motorhead
I bought this because I'm a huge motorhead fan i really enjoy seeing old interviews with the band and all but to be honest i was not very impressed with the product. Its not Amazons fault its just i was hoping to see howcthey came up with the songs and maybe understand a little bit more on how they madecthe album. Instead all i got was discussion on hawk wind and jimmy Hendrix which is old news to me.. i still love motorhead and happy i got more interviews but this isn't what its supposed to be..

A very nice intro to Motorhead
I never even heard of Motorhead until the late 1980's and didn't really listen to them until 1996. But when I did, it was one of the most physically exciting musical experiences of my life, and my introduction to the group was 'Ace of Spades.' I adore the 'Classic Albums' series and was like a pig in...mud getting to see the band discuss their experiences surrounding the making of the album, as well as do a little catch-up on where they came from and how they became a classic Motorhead line-up.

Especially good for fans of the early days of Motörhead
A good slice of rock nostalgia.I like the music of later Motörhead a little more, but these guys had the coolest names. The only disappointment was that Fast Eddie wasn't able to be/play in the same studio as Lemmy and Philthy Animal.
