Stabila 24 Inch Type 196-2 Spirit Level Tool

One of the best levels you can buy, well worth the money

It’s a Stabila, what more can be said. Quality of the level is great and the vial is easy to read. This is about 2x-4x the price of a big box store level but if you care about quality and accuracy, just buy it. Buy once cry once! It feels and looks so nice that I didn’t want to use it and want to keep it new. But I end up using it for work and got another one just for home use.

We’ve used this level for several home projects, and it has been very accurate and easy to work with. The 72-inch size is especially helpful for larger jobs like shelving, framing, and making sure longer surfaces are level without needing to constantly reposition the tool. One thing I really like is that the bubble vials are clear and easy to read, even in lower lighting. The level itself feels sturdy and well made without being overly heavy, so it’s comfortable to carry around and use for longer periods. It also seems durable enough to hold up well in a garage or workshop setting. If you’re someone who does DIY projects regularly or just wants a reliable longer level for around the house, this is definitely a solid option.

These things are indestructible and precise! I work as a construction foreman, so, obviously, quality and durability are vital. I work postframe construction, so it isn't super complicated, but, if you know anything about the business, it's insanely fast paced. Jobsites are always dirty and it's just hard on tools. These levels are incredibly strong, stupidly accurate, and just a worthwhile investment. Almost every other level I've purchased has been broken or rendered unusable within 6 months tops. I have had a 4' version of this for over 2 years and it's just as good as when I got it. Finally adding a 6' level to help with taller walls. If you're an occasional DIYer, a level from Home Depot would probably do you great. That's what I use around my own house. But if you're in the business and you need something that can take a beating and still function properly, look no further.

Stabila level are worth every penny. After 20+ years my abused my stabila level was destroyed by heavey equipment. My fault. In all that time and many drops layer it was showed level without deviation. The box frame didn't bend or twist. This is one of the buy once cry once purchases you look back at and know it was worth it. I make a living on the notion that it is done right the first time. The right tools helps make that possible.

This is the bigger level, small enough to keep around, more accurate for when that counts, but not on person;

I have been through a lot of levels over the years. Some have been boken, some damaged to the point of uselessness, some "borrowed" and never returned. All required a lot of fiddling to get them level and none of them were Stabila. After an unfortunate end to my most recent level I decided it was time for an upgrade. At around double what I would normally spend on a level this was a touch pill to swallow, but after accounting for the amount of time I normally spend adjusting a new level to true, the expense might just be worth it. As far as the level itself is concerned, I found the production quality to be top notch. The machined finished on the top and bottom are true and either surface can be referenced which is a huge bonus over other similar models. The wall gripper ends are a handy feature that I have used more than I would, but easily removed if required. The handles are "chunky" and comfortable to grip (as opposed to the thin aluminum hand hole found on cheaper I-bean levels). The whole thing is a pleasant, substantial weight without being heavy. It stays in place where you need it without concern of moving it with breathing too heavy. I guess I could mention that its accurate, but that is what you should expect from a level right? You won't be disappointed.
