Better than Leather - Super Comfortable!
This is a super-comfortable "tanker" style holster for a 1911. A Beretta 92FS / M9 fits in it too! I love this holster. It's even better than a standard leather model, in my opinion, because it is more flexible and more comfortable to wear. Fully adjustable strap fits most body types. Great for outdoor excursions or trips to the range. I'm not sure if they actually made canvas models like this during WWII, but if not, they should have. Leather is great, but this canvas model is the best. Super Customer Service too. I have purchased many products from this company, World War Supply and they are easy to deal with and provide great service, outstanding products, and great prices! I highly recommend this holster!

Fits a 1911 like a glove. Other pistols can be difficult.
Pros:1. Canvas strap has lots of room to expand/contract, to fit anyone and even go over other gear.2. Slim, and can be worn on the front of the chest, or under the armpit.3. Belt loop at the bottom to ensure it doesn't flop around.4. Is sized just right for a USGI M1911A1.5. Canvas material seems good, and metal snaps are crisp and new.6. Looks authentic for WWII reenacting.Cons:1. Other pistols, especially thicker double-stacks, may not fit. An M92 Beretta can barely squeeze in, but I wouldn't recommend this holster for that application.2. Not a super quick draw.

Concealed or open carry style holster
I like this can be configured for ccw, under the armpit carry. Put the holster belt loop AFTER your 2nd jeans/shorts belt loop and adjust shoulder strap for tucked under pit concealment.Or, for open across the chest carry like military brass and flyers did when wearing jackets for fast un holstering, throw one strap on top of left shoulder, then bring 2nd strap under right armpit and across chest. Cinching it tight with belt loop puts the pistol at a very nice upward angle. Allowing rapid unholstering compared to under the pit. Open carry in center of chest is perfect for driving in states that allow open carry. And to walk around with allowing very fast draws. Gives more than 180 degree visibility. Only directly from behind is it only visible 180 degrees. But the straps are visible 360 degrees. Know your state laws for open carry.A great inexpensive holster that won't leave leather residue on the skin.Fit appears big at 1st. Before putting on take half the slack out. Then fit from there.I'll be ccw it even around the house to stretch and get it broken in. Seems to hold my 4.25" barrel 1911 well so far. Or a Glock 19.If the strap that cinches the grip down is too lose you can add a new snap to that strap. Having a 2nd snap to secure the pistol adds to its flexibility in holstering many different types of firearms. If that's something you can't do at home then take it to a local store that makes custom holsters and pay them $20 to put a 2nd snap on it.

Using this for my daily walk
I'm a 5 ft tall woman who walks alone early every morning not in a subdivision. I didn't want a gun holder that tucks up under my arm pit when I'm fast pace walking. It is a very snug fit for my 9mm but I managed to get it in there and got the strap snapped. I have ordered a leg strap to put through the bottom loop so I can strap it to my thigh so it doesn't flop around the whole time. I like that it is worn like a crossbody purse and it's lose enough that it's not covered in sweat when I'm done walking.

A very good basic holster for 1911 and similar size guns
Very cost effective and basic holster for 1911 size guns. Fits almost any semi-auto of a similar or smaller size. Does not work well with revolvers.

Very well crafted.
I am very surprised at how well made this holster is. Well worth the money. And once you adjust the strap it snugs up pretty good against the ribs. I'm a husky guy (250lbs.) The strap is long, but easily adjusts for regular fit persons.

the greatest generation made great holster for indoor wearing
I needed a holster I could wear around the house regardless of clothes being worn. This simple over the shoulder strap holster doesn't require belts or pockets and since it's worn over the neck, doesn't slide off. When outside or moving around doing chores and such, it flops around too much even with belt loop (that I'm not sure I used when riding ATV) or gets in the way when using chainsaw or other tools. Belt holster better when outdoors in my opinion, but this is what I needed for indoors and it works great for that. When sitting at desk or anywhere, I found nothing better than this holster. Nice heavy canvas with strap to hold sidearm in place. Just be sure to match order to sidearm...
