Brass Hose Pot, Removable lid with solid brass handle

Got this for my moms patio so she wouldn't have to haul the hose to water her plants. She loves it!! Plus it's very attractive.

Nice looking at first, but it starts to rust within a couple of months and the bottom falls out in less than a year. All of the edges around the top, bottom and hose outlet are rolled over so they capture and hold water, which quickly penetrate through the thin plating and start the rusting process. Better to spend the extra money and buy a once-in-a-lifetime purchase of a solid copper hose pot. Your almost half-way into the purchase of solid copper at the price of this cheply made hose pot.

The lid fits inside instead of overlapping the top edge and this pot therefore collects rainfall, with it gathering at the bottom, where your hose lies, and things get funky fast. The plating is extremely thin and weak. It is really more like copper colored paint and soon cracks to expose the underlying steel, which promptly rusts, even in southern California. Like other reviewers said, spend the extra money and buy a once-in-a-lifetime purchase of a well made hose pot. This was a really disappointing purchase that started to fail after I could ask for a refund...and I bought two of them.
